Got a call just like Mike. Recited the last four digits of card number. Telling me about the free Walmart card just need a $1 authorization. Needless to say, I told her a piece of my mind and then hung up.

Now that I am reading these comments. I see where these people got my information. Recently, I order a snuggie for my mother in law and used the card they stated the last four digits of. Sounds like a lawsuit.

i got a call from these people today I didn't answer but looked up the number on here so now I am going to answer next time to find out what c.c. they have access to

I called the number back and it rang like a house phone It rang three or four times than it said this person is not availiable

Same thing for me! they said I was going to be getting a $25 Amex or Walmart card. Thing is, I just had my credit card number changed, and they used the last 4 digits of my last card. I told them I wasn't interested and they hung up.

I looked at this site before they called again. It helped!

Do you guys have a credit card with capital one?  I do, and I recently have gotten the same calls.  It is definitly a scam.  Its nice to see a site like this.  231-732-2642.

I received two of these calls, this morning & tonight.  I've never been called by these people before.  It is interesting that the other comments mention Walmart.  I bought something from Walmart.com, the first time I've ever purchased anything at Walmart, one week ago.  Could Walmart be selling people's names & credit card info????

I also received a call from a "Tony".I kept asking which card and he repeated the last four digits. I then asked from which bank was the card issued. All I kept saying was no thank you. He also stated he was from Avalon. I didn't let him finish.

glad I looked it up before I called it back!  I hope they don't call me back again!

Got this call today, twice. When I actually picked up, the arab sounding woman on the other end said she was with Avalon...well needless to say I let her speak her peace, but when she got down to the gritty of saying there was a $1 processing fee for the gift card, I turned around and told her that she can take the gift card, and her company and shove it up her candy ass. Lol, needless to say I don't mess with peoples on the phone like that, but I don't like it when people trying to scam me.  Stated the last four of my CC that is actually in the process of going through collections, hahah I had a fall out when the economy took a nose dive.

I work in a call center and hear that everyday "Oh you are just trying to scam me" Whatever the case may be, I called them back, and only got a voice mail! No business that I know of would not at least place their business name on their voice mail. But I left them a message stating that I already reported them to the BBB, and to take my name and number off their calling list. Also told them if I get one more call, I'm having a lawyer haunt them.

People never learn.

Received 2 calls from this number today. When I answered no one said anything. Tried calling back and got no answer, just kept ringing.

Same here, my baby was crying loudly in the background so i didnt hear much.  i did hear very unprofessional laughter and a mention of a master card. mine how ever is a debit and has a bal of 51 cents. so at this point i am not worried but very annoyed and concered about the obvious scam!!

got a call on sunday 3/15/2009 told the poorly spoken person to go F**k themself when they said i won a 25 dollar visa card so much for do not call

Today I got roped by the "Free $25 Walmart Gift Card" thing. Yes I agreed to it. STUPID, I know. I had a bad feeling about it on the phone Said no to a couple of options, and that I wasn't interested in anything that would involve money being taken out of my account. Then they said it's only $1 for S&H and unfortunately I agreed. I tried to call back the number a few minutes later and I got a message saying that the number was disconnected. I did research online and found that it was in fact a scam, and then found this site. A couple of hours later, I went to the bank, told them what happened and had my debit card (with the last 4 digits they mentioned) reported as stolen or as a "hot card". I'm going to the bank later this week to file for a brand new one. Anyway, reporting it stolen cuts them off from the source, so I would recommend doing this if you have also fallen for the scam. These people have called me multiple times since this past Friday, never leaving a message on the answering machine. I picked up the phone today thinking it was someone calling the wrong number, and correct them and that would be that. So stupid, it's not worth it. I usually do screen phone calls, but I'll be a lot more careful about it now. Even if you do answer the phone, and it's someone you don't know... just hang up on them.

i got one of these last sunday- guy had my name and last 4 numbers of the credit card- said he was calling in regards to my credit card ending in XXXX,
wanted to send me a $25 walmart card for $1 fee.said no thanks and hung up

Got this call today. ?????? Have not bought a snuggie or anything else so I have no idea why this number is calling me. Did a reverse look up on 411.com and this is the info I got ( Mob Mktg Avalon, MORLEY, MI )

I've also received a call from this number, but I didn't answer because I didn't recognize the number. I decided to google it and came across this. SCAM!

Got same call, same deal from a foreign woman. Offered $25 Visa and Walmart gift cards, then put me on hold, and started to do some confirmation dialing that really worried me. I hung up immediately. Is there anywhere we can report this?
