    perhaps the caller ID (234-567-8900) should be a clue????? I just hit the ignore button and move on. You can rant all you want but they will still call.
    If I don't recognize the caller ID I hit ignore and if it's important they will leave a vocemail. Sure, it's annoying but life's too short to get all "lathered up" by some jerk.

    go along with the call and give them a hard time.
    i will change my accent and speak poor english give them a credit number make them repeat it and change the number all over again until they get tired of it.
    since they are wasting your time have fun with it.

    montreal-they have called  1-2 a week for the last 4 months and i only just thought of this idea today.

    after reading all the trouble we all are having we might as well play with them.

    I just got the same message on my answering machine. I read messages on this site and found one which gives the source of this telemarketing company.. I called, was passed on to a supervisor who agreed to put me on their no-call list after I was able to confirm that they use 1-234-567-8900 for telemarketing purposes... She said it could take up to 30 days for the no call list to take effect. We will see. I used the 1-800-943-3250 Try it too if you are as annotyed as I was. Here is the message I found with the info:
    I have found out these a**holes are MCS (Mutual Consolidated Services).  

    Please flood their emails (savemoney@mcsprograms.com, compliance@mcsprograms.com) with complaints.

    I also found out their phone numbers: 1-877-891-1348, or 1-800-943-3250 please flood them as well with complaints maybe this will help them understand.  See web page below.

    What they are doing is illegal.  You should not have to search the web and ask them if they use 1-234-567-8900 or if they leave stupid automated voice messages.  They should show a VALID number on the caller ID and you should be able to ask not to be called easily.  Not by searching on the net and guessing who they are. This is the law here in Canada anyway.

    I called 1-877-891-1348.  Goes straight to voicemail.  Left 2 nasty messages.  (If we all do it it will fill their voice mail).
     
    Then I called 1-800-943-3250 where you can speak to a live person (I used *67 to block my phone number) and kept them on the phone as long as I could rambling about how annoyed I am.  If we all do it it will tie them up and end up costing them money!  Probably does not change anything but I felt better after...

    I just called 1-800-943-3250. (Blocked my number with *67 as the guy above said)  All I said was "Stop Calling me!"  with a very bad accent!   Then I just hung up!   Yes!

    Just got a call from 12345678900, They left a message saying they have  an offer to lower my interest rate.  Press 1 to talk to an operator.  They left this kind of message almost every day last week and the week before and they left another message today.  When they call, we're not there so there is always a message on the answering machine.

    I can't count how many times they called me. I'm so tired I looked for a way to block these calls by my phone company and then, maybe I'm parano, but I though: what if it was a way for phone companies to have people pay to get that service, that, by the way, isn't free...
    So I don't know what to do. Go crazy, probably.

    yeh are they rude or what? The scam, yes offshore, phone company and mounted police (Phonebusters) cant do anything. Seems they trying to sell us a credit service worth 6-700$ to be charged on our credit card. Police told me to watch my future bills and to call them if i find anything. Also reported the call at Bell Canada and asked to keep a note in my file ...in case i suddenly find a great friend in Bouthan or the Maldives... After the 10 call i did press 1 to speak to an «agent» and they had my phone number and probably my name also so beware!!!
    Super fishing and probably identity theft.

    If it is not a call from234-567-8900. it is from 000-000-0000.  Both are starting to annoy me and continue, even though I have signed up for the no call listings in Canada

    SR, FLO, Babylon, Musicmama, I found out who they are.  They are "Mutual Consolidated Services". They are supposed to help you lower your credit card debt (but you will be surprised ro see a huge charge on your credit card for this!!!  They are thieves).  

    Here is what you can do to get back at them:

    1. GO on a pay phone.

    2. Call 1-800-943-3250 (it's free)

    3. Go crazy!  Tell them to F off, talk dirty, pretend you are [***], speak chinese, do anything to annoy them as much as they annoy us!  If we all do it they will get a taste of their own medecine!!!

    They call at home and bother us with a message about an interest lowering blah, blah, that makes no sense. How did our number came into their listing, we are situated in Quebec, Canada?

    Some people are having lots of time to lose on their hands!

    Je crois qu'il faut dénoncer la situation à «Phonebusters.com» lorsque ce genre de situation se produit. Je viens tout juste de le faire et l'ai fait dans le passé pour un autre numéro harcelant et cela avait donné du résultat.

    Yes that's what they do, they just hang up as soon as you hint them you're not interested or you want to be removed from their registry.

    This is what worked for me..When they call click on the person you want to talk to.. THEN as soon as you hear a voice.. YELLLLLL LOUDDD, that will teach them, it worked for me. LOL

    Called I hit the #3 "to be removed from list". I don't think it has been a month and here they are calling again. It's going to be a long winter!!!!
