Did not answer unknown number - blocked it after reading here. 1-234-567-8900 looks like a spoofed number (consecutive digits).

Got a call at work from this number. Phone display "SALEM OH". Did not answer it.

Interesting, I just registered an Internet domain with the phone number they called. Coincidence?

I got a call from 1-234-567-8900 yesterday, Friday April 18, 2014.  I did not answer nor did they leave a message.  The call came in from Salem, OH.  I am in Toronto and I know no one in Salem, OH so I did not answer.

Just keeps calling and calling and no one there.

Broke into my contact list tried to call me under a picture of a family member who was dead.

They called and said my social security was being frozen or something. Claimed something about looking like i was suscpicious of illegal activity in my state, and then said i had to press 1 to talk to a rep. I hung up right then.

Called my cell.  No voice mail and I didn't answer.  From what I see here, I won't either.

234-567-8900 has been hijacked by some Foreign Jerk and using it as a pretense of Social Security to SCAM Americans.

Maybe part fool.  The number has not been hijacked. 23 pages and 450 posts going back to 2008 attest to that.  If you call the number back and get a "not in service" message, then you might fairly say the number is being spoofed.  If you are bothered that what looks like an Ohio number is being used by an Indian call center, you are too sensitive.  Thieves steal by trickery. One of the best weapons to fight with is truthful information.

Multiple calls daily from this number.  I do not know anyone in the Akron area and they never leave a message.  The National Do Not Call Registry does no good at all.

I just got a call from this number telling me there was a problem with my social security number that included fraud.  I was transferred to a woman who wanted me to identify myself.  I told her she should have my information since they made the call to me and asked to speak with a supervisor.  Was not allowed to speak to anyone else.  Second call I got today.  The first was from 888-815-0221.

The call claimed there was recent fraud with social security (which I don't collect or needed to replace my card) and I knew it was suspicious by the number and I don't live in the state of Ohio. Right away they asked me for my name, but not only did they not tell me their name but SOCIAL SECURITY or the IRS will NEVER CALL YOU.

This was a scam call center, they open up claiming your personal information is at risk and to press a number for English. If you ever get contacted for any identity theft or social security issue your case worker will contact you, and they still recommend you contact social security or your local police department directly. You never get connected with any call center!

Then after this fraudulent threat, they want your first and last name. The people who just called you from an unknown number want your first and last name to protect your identity? It's the same fraud centers from India who barely speak English.

You would think with all this technology we would be able to have them all thrown in jail.

Scam.......said Social Security Number was suspended.......

Just got a call from 234-567-8900 telling me that my social security payments have been stopped as my number has been used in illegal operations. I needed to press one to talk to some one. When I first asked how and what illegal things had it been used on they hung up.
