This man contacted me through seniormeetpeople.com  After one simple happyface flirt from him I looked at his profile. It said he owned his home in Beaver Dam WI, he was 64, and so on. I flirted back because I liked what his profile said about him. I started sending him messages, but he didn't seem to be able to write a message back. So I opened email correspondance. He sent his address first csmith@yahoo.com I in turn responded. He told me after just looking at my pictures one time he was madly in love with me and wanted to spend the rest of his life with me blah blah blah. I started asking him more about himself. Well that has been like pulling teeth. All he does is reply back with a bunch mushy love stuff. He convinced me to set up yahoo messenger so we could talk more better, that's how he put it. I did get more about him. He is supposedly Irish and says he has an Irish accent. But his emails and messaging, his grammer was poor, he had poor sentence structure, and he couldn't spell. This from a man that says he has a degree in engineering from Oxford Uninversity, in London. Still having trouble dragging personal info from him I asked him for his phone number. When he emailed it back being nieve as I am I thought it had five numbers to many. Plus I know the area code for Beaver Dam is 920. My son looked at it and said it was an international number. Now all this time he has led me to believe he's only 40 miles away from me. Upon confronting him about it, he said oh I am in Nigeria, Africa working, I thought I told you. Bells and whistles went off. My son began researching. He found there have been dating scams coming out of Nigeria, where he said he was. Some of the comments made from other ladies parrelleled mine to a tee. Oh also he changed his mind about how old he is, he's 62 now. I have done my own research of public records. There is no record of any Craig Smith, his age, ever owning a home in Beaver Dam, WI. In fact I can not find any information on a Craig Smith, age 62-64, ever even living in the USA. So when I googled the number he gave me, low and behold there it was listed in the suspicious numbers. It also is from Nigeria, Africa. I really hope you can investigate this and find out what's going on before some poor lonely senior lady gets hurt. Thank you for your time. I'm sorry I rambled, but I think you need some info about how this person is operating. He really talks a good game.

Wow, I have the same person doing exactly the same thing with me.  Only I live in Florida.  I joined Senior People Meet about 8 weeks ago and have been exchanging emails with SOULMAN0014 for about one month. The story is almost identical. Don't buy it!!

This was just attempted on me.  I usually look everyone up on the net so I was glad to have found this post.  I have filed this as abuse and reported it to SeniorPeopleMeet.  I started to become suspicious because of the hours of his contacts and then his spelling went from good to someone struggling with American English.  The Nigeria story was a bit farfetched.  That picture probably isn't the real person. I had a similar scam with Adam Kahn in Massachusetts.  This time he was German, widower, the over-the-head God references and instant love then no contact.  I checked on him and found another Adam Kahn, but much younger so and the details didn't line up, so I figured it was a set up.  Everyone needs to keep their heads up and eyes wide open, there are good men out there.

I can't believe this.  Senior People is the worst site I have ever known.  This so-called Craig Smith - SoulMan from Senor People is still bugging me. Three days and I sniffed a rat.  His story does not add up.  He has a grandaughter that he calls a daughter that already calls you StepMom - Excuse me, I did not ask for a Stepdaughter - I have a family.  He phoned me and it sounded like he is calling from a jail cell.  I cancelled my Senior People membership immediately.  Through Senior People, I had a message immediately from someother person with so much the same scenario, it sent up red flags.  Researched and I had never responded to this other person and could not find a profile - suspicion one and the same person as Craig Smith.  Beware - Why does a site like Senior People take your money and let you be scammed.  I wrote them about the suspicion, but never received a reply.  They only care about getting their money.

Please!!! Someone research this man--------   I don't go on dating sites and what a fiasco to think you are on a legitimate site to find you have a weirdo contacting you.

He sounded drunk, couldn't speak English and insisted on a phone kiss.

    He is weird

I too join seniorpeoplemeet, I was contacted by Adam Kahn who gave me the same story, wonderful writer, very passionate, the he had a big contract in Nigeria - "his debit card did not work there" asked me for $13,000.  He claimed he was German electrical engineer graduated Oxford in London.  He has a son Daniel who is also attending Oxford.  Please ladies, watch out for this one - he is a smooth talker.  Must think American women are easy targets.

Oh my word,I not only have the same story but I have 3.... Funny thing bout it is that one was already in Nigeria "working"-Name Rob Kenneth, then a James Kahn from St Paul ,Minn, went to Nigeria to "work" asked me to send him approx. $3,000.00 for the balance of equipment that got lost in transit. Now my most recent one that really swept me off my feet-Eric Richard Bullard in Houston,TX just left a week ago yesterday(may 30 th) for contact work to build 2 bridges....then I get this email from my "step-son" Leon aka-Eric jr-who calls me mom & says that dad is in hospital due to gang attack & he got hit in knee with sledgehammer & he needs $1,400.00 for the doctor to do surgery.I emailed back telling him asking if doctors could do surgery than bill his dad.Funny, the gang took his credit card & all the cash he had in his pocket. Then I got email on sunday -30th saying that he got most of the money but if I could still come up with $600-700.00 that would be great & gave me name of someone who may or may not be a doctor there.I am going to call the American Consulate in Nigeria to see if this guy even exists& if he isn't there I'm calling the U.S. Secret Service to report this crap.....I would suggest all of us women do the same.

OK, chalk up one more in the Craig Smith scam club.  This man is persistant but way over the top in his attempt to pull you in to his scam. I mean, I'm intelligent and not ugly but I've never had anyone fall so desperately in love with me after seeing my picture and one flirt.Funny thing is, he is still online - I was hoping to chat with him some more and see how far he will go.  Unbelieveable!  What a jerk!  I imagine 99% of the people on this site are alright but it only takes one to screw things uo.  Hopefully, no one will fall for his crap but unfortunately, someone may end up hurt, broke or both.  Thanks for a site where these creeps can be exposed.

i too had suspicious messages from various men. i cwould get a message and check the profile. WORD FOR WORD the same sad story---lost wife a only one child.these messages were from Atlanta, NYC, and other East coast cities. After the 2 or 3rd, I started being a smart alect about it and suggested they compare notes, gave them each the others email. Even mentioned I planned to be in Atlanta in a few weeks---that one didnt ever contact me again.
I did report each of them to  the Senior web site and I hope you did too. the men that were all sending me the same love at first sight messages were removed from the site.
just goes to show. old dont mean stupid.

I had 2 men try to dupe me into with the lovey dovy mess. The first one was named Carl Ladd from Cin.,Ohio. He did give me his phone number and I called it but he would'nt talk to me wanted to email him on yahoo. He even sent me flowers to boot. Now the other one was really  tight in his information. His name was Michael Cardenas, said he lived in NY. another lady said he told her Canada. He said he worked for an insurance company in London, he gave me phone numbers which I called and they were always busy. Anyway this went on for a month and he finally asked me to use my name and address for him to go to another job, red flags had already gone off. You know the spill, your my soul mate, love of my life so on an so on.So  the last email I sent to him was did you hear about the guy who was email women and he was trying to get money out of them.Never heard anything else from him. Everyone needs to read the about the scams on the people site. I was like every new subscriber did not read the about the predators.Ladys watch out for these people they are not your love life. Good luck to everyone on your quest.

I too was told the same things.  This site is dangerous and the seniorpeoplemeet.com oweners do not care nor do they respond to you.  They take your money and run.  I truly believe they are part of the scam ring.  No one ever hears back from them when you file a complaint.  I am just grateful I sent a check to them instead of entering my credit card number and information.  I sure hope someone investigates this sight and warns all of us in are golden years.  Some of us are not that lucky. Someone needs to investigate the seniorpeoplemeet folks and I am sure they will find they are all in this together.

I just received a message from a James Kahn who is listed as Lonely 332 on SeniorPeopleMeet.com who is from St. Paul MN... but when I looked him up in St. Paul he was born in 1920... so he looked mighty young for 90... and his English writing was broken as well... how do we get these sites to be more selective on members?  I would have probably fell for it for a while... but have seen alot of the scam letters on line and email and know the language they speak... thank goodness I only gave him my email address... and can block him out... but it does hurt that vulnerable lonely people who are genuine have to deal with this crap!

This happened to me as well.  Thought I was talking to someone close to my home town....lots of mushy stuff, loved me, wanted to marry me....of course I got suspicious, especially when he asked me to wire him money to Africa!!!  I have cancelled my membership, but because I was paid up 6 months, still get on every now and again to see if he is trying to contact me again, and today I found that my picture has been changed (to a younger, thinner, prettier person) and I am getting hits right and left...this all makes me sick. I will remain alone before ever trying this stuff again. This place is terrible and I will be reporting them to someone!!

Unbelievable. Yes, the lovey dovey emails and pictures sent.  Avoided questions until I called him on it and told him he wasn't serious.  Wife died many years ago, etc...

Is there any honest people left in this world?
