- B-Edwards replies to Rosemary| 17 repliesHetti was an unregistered user here in 2018 and I doubt she will see you post. There are some web sites that track romance scammers, you might find a photo and more info with some digging. also try just a Google image search and see what comes up.
Usually they stick to similar stories, that is a good way to know if you have the same scammer. Since finding out real identities is so hard, catching the crooks is almost impossible. This thread has over 1600 posts over 87 pages, that is an operation, not just one person. Probably run from somewhere in Africa, with many criminals chipping in time to share the considerable rewards. You were probably communicating with several people, men and woman.
If you have not sent money, just cut contact and if you "met" through a dating site, let the site know. If you have sent money, the chance of getting that back is about zero. - Rosemary replies to B-Edwards| 16 repliesI have been talking on the phone with him daily for 2 weeks. I have not sent money and he has not asked. I just wanted to see if he uses the same photos over and over. I cannot find the photos he had on the dating site anywhere on the internet
- B-Edwards replies to Rosemary| 15 repliesYou might try asking for more photos via email and seeing what you get. There sometimes is metadata inside emailed photos that can prove lie.
Other than this phone number that is linked to scams going back over 10 years, what else has he said that has you suspicious? Usually the person's "life story" will be just a bit too good to be true - they like to be seen as plausibly heroic (military/law enforcement career) and often have kids but no ex-wife. The ex usually died of accident or terrible disease.
IMHO, that the caller is using this number is enough for you to be very skeptical. 2 weeks may not be enough time for them to ask for money, but you might get hints soon, or requests for small sums. Some scammers may even repay small loans just to hook you. If you are asked for funds in the form of Gift Cards, that is a BIG red flag, If they tell you to give them the numbers on the back of the Gift Card, you can be sure you are being scammed. - Rosemary replies to B-Edwards| 14 repliesHe is not using this number. There are a lot of email postings on here that are almost word for word to some he has sent me. I am really struggling with this one. A lot of these posts with those emails are really old. I am so confused and I want him to be real so bad. I just don't know what to think because of the similarities in emails to me now and the older ones from 2011 2012. Thanks for talking with me about all this.
- B-Edwards replies to Rosemary| 13 repliesI am a bit confused how you got to this thread if not by the phone number, but I will take what you are saying at face value since romance scammers are horrible and cruel people. Look back here in a couple of hours and I will try to post links to other posts with general info about the scams.
It is at least a yellow caution flag if the wording is similar in your emails and what is posted here, so it makes sense to be careful with your heart and you money. If the guy is the real, not a scammer, time will tell. You don't have a deadline on this right?
If you post some of the details of what you were told, that might help. The military scammers tend to make some very big mistakes that can be easily checked. Also the law enforcement scammers. - Rosemary replies to B-Edwards| 12 repliesHi he is just posing as a regular guy working as a senior investment consultant for skyview investment international wife died mom and daughter in Italy daughter in flight school. I got here by those details alone when I was googling. Then I went through all 87 pages of content here and started finding many similarities in women's email posts to ones I was getting. He also is not using an international phone. It is a us phone number. The email contents through here is what is making me suspicious.

- JackReacher replies to Rosemary| 9 repliesSince this is a phone number look up site the posts should have gone under that phone number. How you put that number into a search engine and ended up here is a mystery. This is not a blog either.
- Rosemary replies to JackReacher| 8 repliesWhat is this then a complaint about scammers site.
- B-Edwards replies to RosemaryThis might help - From this site's main page:Quote:This is a user supplied database of phone numbers of telemarketers, non-profit organizations, charities, political surveyors, SCAM artists, and other companies that don't leave messages, disconnect once you answer, and simply interrupt your day.
If you received a strange call, unwanted SMS message, or just came across a number you don't recognize and want more information about, most likely you are not the only one. Search for this phone number to see the reports of others. If there are no reports yet, leave your comment to start a conversation.
I will post back to you in a while with what info I have that might help. I see your dupe posts were removed, that happens to keep the thread neat; don't take offense.
JackReacher is right, this is not a blogging site and it most times responses are not in anything like Real Time. I just happened to be checking on this thread. - B-Edwards replies to Rosemary| 6 repliesDid you do a web search on Skyview Investment International?
- In the email, he places the home office in Kent, but the website has an address in London. I find that odd.
- He refers to "Kent is a city in southeast England." That is incorrect. Kent is a county, not a city. That is troubling. Also the description reads like an entry in Wiki or a travel guide and that is a common mistake scammers in other countries make.
- I don't much believe the bit about not being able to make a phone call, that sounds like BS to me. If he travels that much, he would be prepared, not surprised. He could have called one way or another, esp from an airport or from his "home office."
If he says he lives in the US, you might ask for details about that, or ask details about his job and esp what licenses he has for investments - act like you are impressed by how smart he has to be since he must have to have state licenses and pass some very difficult tests. With that info, you can check on him here in the state he works out of. If he put you off, you will have at least a part answer.
You might also check with his Home Office, tell them you were approached about investments from someone claiming to work for Skyview and you want to see if the have an employee with that name.
If you found any of the romance/sweet talk in earlier threads, I would be very, very careful with your heart and your $$. - Rosemary replies to B-Edwards| 3 repliesThank you for all your input. I might have already ruined everything with him anyway because I brought up some of these duplicate emails from this site and he told me this is all made up. He has left me alone he only answers back when I reach out to him. That is kind of a good sign because other women posted on here that the person did not leave them alone even after they called them out.
Thank you again. I am sorry to have been a bother but I am so confused right now. - B-Edwards replies to Rosemary| 2 repliesYou have not been a bother - you put together a series of posts that ring true and might help others. Emails with dupe texts/language are hard to explain away. Take care, stay safe.
- JackReacher replies to B-Edwards| 1 replyThe problem remains that not one word of what was posted belongs in this thread. Plus other people's posts were copied and pasted.
- B-Edwards replies to JackReacherLooks like there is agreement on that longer post with details. True on the thread, but there is a connection between this number and the script being used. It's a stretch but maybe something good will come to others.
- Rosemary replies to B-Edwards| 1 replyHello B-Edwards
I am back because now Skyview Investments International website(s) are now gone. Flag now. - B-Edwards replies to RosemaryI guess you have your answer with 110% certainty. That, along with not having money taken, is to the good - and you know a few more things about staying safe. Take care and good fortune in 2020!
