I just got contacted through Match.com by Ryan Scanlon of Chardon OH. If he's not for real, can someone please let me know!  I've had several of these scammer types try to fool me, but luckily their crappy English and lines are all the same, so I've caught on.  He sounds too good to be true, so glad I googled him! Thanks!

He is currently emailing me with the exact same letter, but now his name is Bill Andrea and he supposedly works for Premier Investments International. He hasn't asked me for any money nor told me about his mother, but I have only received two emails from him and they were far apart...partially because I didn't subscribe to Match.com right away and couldn't read his email and then I went out of state and didn't read his second email. What can I do to help get him caught? He's not aware that I know he's a scammer and I DON'T plan to send any money, but I can string him along to help catch him!!!  Who do I need to contact, since he hasn't scammed me yet? I checked out the www.ic3.gov site, but you have to have been scammed to file a complaint.

I got a message exactly like dozens I have read in this conversation.  The name today is Clovis Theo, and he came through Match.com.  Same story, so i went to Premier Investments International and found these 28 pages of posts.  I blocked him from my email immediately.  The poor English and the undying love are both trademarks of these scammers, and they will never be caught - they are not in this country, which is good, because if they were, they could be standing on your doorstep.  Never give out your address, always arrange meetings in public places, and find the love of your life at church, not on the Internet!

I have also be receiving emails from a man calling himself David Dukes though his email is davidweymouth@yahoo.com.  No need to rehash the emails almost word for word the same as the rest have received.  I called him on the pictures on match.com as he claimed to be 61 but was looking for 60 - 75 year old women.  His pictures were of someone in their 20s, 30-40s and a much larger older man who didn't look anything like the other pictures who could have been over 50.  Inconsistencies of name...deceased wife called him Ed, Mother called him Mario, his name is David but he signed an email to me as Donald.  Never answered questions, never asked questions.  Wanted my full name, address and job description for a deal with wealthy men from Dubai to start up his own investment firm.  Claimed he works for WiMax Investment Internatinal  blah blah.  I used a burn phone with anyone from the dating site and made sure my email address gave none of my real information out including my legal name.  I refused to give any contact information or participate in any business deal requiring me to be named on a document because he hadn't turned in his resignation to WiMax.  Of course I also recognized a scam...and wondered when he would ask for money or something else to get personal info on me.  I have all of the emails if someone contacts the FBI I can send them as well.  What a piece of work...I hope nobody falls for such obvious lies.

Well this poor boy is busy busy busy...so many states so little time...LOL

I received identical emails, about 5 weeks worth.  I didn't believe he was for real...but wanted to see where it all went.  Neadless to say, there was one trip after another.  I didn't get asked for money just my legal name, address & employment information.  LOL.  I used a disposable cell phone and throw away email with a name other than my own.  He didn't even question it.  My scammer was David Dukes though he used the email address: davidweymouth at Yahoo DOT com.  David supposedly works for WiMax Investment International...there's no listing for that.  Interesting in that I couldn't find any listing for a David Dukes or a David Weymouth, 61 living in Rockville, VA.  Claimed his mother (last name of Weymouth) just died last week.  His poor mother, so many deaths in the name of wooing someone out of identy info or money.  When I refused the info...told me he was hurt as he felt I was doubting him but he would always love me.  LOL.  I am not sure whether this is one person or a larger group.  I kept all information to this person as generic as as possible and only gave my first name.  This seems to be a pretty elaborate scam, and probably involved multiple individuals who are not even in this country.  Sure wish there was a way to catch people who prey on women looking to meet someone in their area.

When I first joined Match.com I had five separate individuals from 5 different states all born out of country, all widowers though each of these individuals had different occupations, the scam was the same.  One of the men supposedly lived 60 miles from me.  He called me and had to go to Italy for a construction project and was robbed of all his money and documents.  He did ask if I could send him some money as he didn't have anything at all.  I told him to contact his bank in the US and get his credit cards reissued and cancel the ones he had with him.  I never heard from him again.  I wonder why?

    Marilyn,
I have received contact through Match by the same person known as David Weymouth with his name on Match as ECobb3271.  The email I received from him today was almost word for word as one of the other posts. Even though all the names are different yours was the only one I happen to see that his name was the same as he gave me. He said he works for Premier Investment International as a Consultant Fund Manager. He said that he learned the Fund Management trade under Robert Kiyosaki, another name that keeps popping up.  I'm glad my intuition kicked in and started questioning his poor spelling and word phrases.

The weird thing was almost immediately after he contacted me on Match he shut his account down.  I did have the email where Match contacts me when I have an email and i kept that and his message. The funny thing is today, two days later after he first contacted me the picture on the email Match sent me changed to a woman's picture with the name ECobbgirl but all the information was still as if it were referring to him.  Weird. I contacted Match and reported him and this lady's profile too.  Hopefully they can do something.

I'm ashamed to admit I've contributed a lot to his wallet. Makes me sick.
