- Another Text Recipient| 1 replyI have a Chase account, but this one ain't from them. If you go to the website on a computer (don't use the link they send) it's not a chase site... Be careful....

- NinJust because it says that its chase doesnt mean its chase. I got the message on my phone late last night. I havent had a chase account in almost ten years. So there would be no reason or the to send me any codes. Its a total scam

- Walt| 2 repliesI got this message and called chase immediately. They checked and said that nothing was sent to me from them and to forward it to the abuse department.
100% scam.- Call type: Text message
- CricketI got a text from this number too, out of the blue. This number looked suspicious to me.
It's a scam.
I called Chase about this. I did not request any information from Chase. If you require any special pin from Chase you would know since you requested it and they will have it sent to you within a time frame of your request in the format you request via text, email, or phone.
If you are not sure, do call your bank. - The concerned| 1 replyChase will only send you a message like this If you tell them to.
I know because I often forget my password.
This text message came to me from out of the blue and it is definitely not from chase.
The wording is different from previous messages and it is not them. they simply want your account.
I'm sorry for the people who don't understand this and still believe this message is from chase and I'm furious with the few of you who are obviously scammers trying to convince people to fall for your stupid and illegal scam.- Caller: Chase??
- Dawg242-73 is Chase. However, the number for this message board is 242-733 which is a scam (note the extra 3). Ignore all posts saying it's Chase as they are confused about 24273 vs 242733.

- ericalocGot this message too. It HAS to be a scam. I don't have a chase account, and I haven't for years. these types of scams are way too common, and I encourage everyone not to click any links and call the bank directly in response to unsolicited texts/emails. Report the abuse and the bank will do what they need to in order to stop it.

- MettlecopI don't have a Chase account. Never-the-less, I got a text from this 242733 number. I am on the federal "no contact" list as well - Some good that does! I Chase knows nothing about the contact I received. From everything I have found in my investigation of this, Chase DOES contact its customers via the number 24273... One less "3" than we're seeing on the scam texts. If you're not paying close attention, you could easily fall for it, and give out vital information. If you receive a text from the 242733 number, don't through caution to the wind... Call Chase to confirm it... It only takes a minute.
- Caller: "Chase"
- john replies to mollieMolly, you are full of crap. Chase only sends out messages when you ask to sign on. They give you an option of sending a code via text or via eMail and then NEVER initiate a text without you first signing on.
Any uninvited text is suspicious - alScam. I never used chase for credit cards or banking. I got the same message
- charliephishing scam, i believe, trying to get chase bank info
- Caller: phishing scam
- MiriamI do not have a Chase account of any kind, so these texts cannot be legit in my case. I have to conclude that the texts I am getting from "Chase" are a phishing scam of some kind. I would encourage anyone who receives such a text out of the blue and does have a Chase account to call Chase instead of following the text instructions. If there really is a problem, they will tell you on the phone.
- Caller: a phisher
- AristaI received 2 text messages in a row with the same message about a "Chase online identification code" then it shows the number. The thing is, I don't have a Chase bank account. I thought maybe someone signed up at Chase and put in the incorrect number for their cell phone.

- RickyYeah, this seems to be a scam. Or not. Usually, if I get an alert, it is from 24273. Just looked at this message and it says to enter some random code, but no website is given. Never requested for a code. So, be careful.

- JamesI have no Chase account. I have received this text just now Feb 4 14 at 2:50pm. It is a scam.
- VickyI called my local Chase bank and it is legitimate. They said when you go to another computer or phone they send code to your phone. I don't understand exactly, but that is what she said. I also called the 800 # (800-935-9935) and same thing. (My dad had come across this text on my 11 year grandson's cell phone - he left it at home when he went to school.) We figured out it was probably to the person who previously had his phone number - they must not have updated their phone number with Chase. Really, it's very confusing when some people are saying it's a scam and some people saying, no, it's legitimate. So, just google Chase Bank and you can get your local and/or 800# to verify for yourself, but I can verify it was legitimate at least in general; if you want more specific, talk to Chase about your particular set of circumstances.
- Caller: Chase
- Kris replies to mollieIt can't be Chase bank because I just got 2 texts from that number giving me an online code and first off both codes were different and to top it off I don't have chase bank account nor have I ever. So I can't say what it is for sure but just that it's NOT chase bank helping you feel secure.
