I got the same text this afternoon.   We do have a couple of credit cards through Chase, but I'm not the main card holder, which sent up a red flag for me. I've seen other posts on other sites saying it's legit, some that say it's not. My husband called Chase and they said it was legit, but doesn't know why I would get this text. I'm going to treat it as spam, not reply and delete the message to be on the safe side.

24273 is Chase.  242733 is not Chase but a Phising attempt for your Chase info.  I do not have a Chase account but get the text from 242733 and lately even a phone call.  There call numbers in sequence with the hope of getting Chase customers to fall for it.  You will know if you are expecting a text or not.  If in doubt call Chase and  verify.  24273 is Chase, 242733 is not Chase.  You may forward 242733 texts and any other spam texts to "SPAM" cell companies work together with texts to SPAM to filter them out.

Called Chase bank and they agreed it was a scam.
I feel bad for anyone who thinks this is real. Especially the elderly.

You are all really dumb, except a couple of you. 24273 and 242733 are both Chase Bank. Don't think it's a scam just because you are too dumb to realize that people sometimes enter the wrong phone number. Went get someone calling you but they dialed the wrong number? Same thing here, the are trying to verify their identity but either never changed their number at Chase or entered the wrong number. If you can't handle this truth then you shouldn't have a cell phone. Stop with the ignorance!

Same.just got text. I DO have a chase checking. Just got new phone, Android and switching from iphone. Old phone dead and locked to a locked out email for all my life services. Had just spent 2 weeks going through everything so I had tons of texts with verification codes. Didnt seem out of ordinary except text doesnt list exact login place. Then some said singed up to wallet which I do not do ANY 3rd party services. Keep my own back up plans. Did unlock that email eventually. Just for info, go old school and go via www to get back into things not apps. But the key was the people saying it has an extra 3 at the end. My other clue should have been since the texts if from chase it would have threaded together if from the real number. I blocked it but chase corporation itself needs to get on this number!!!

It's definitely a scam, Contact Chase if you like and they will confirm that it is not being sent from them.
Don't use the code. It's probably some sort of phishing scam.
