A person who said works for blue cross and blue shield called to verify my information, the call came from Canada 1-289-800-0303 They knew some data about me. I called the insurance and report the issue, they are aware of the problem from other people also

Said they were calling from Anthem Blue Cross & Shield to verify my info on my account. When I didn't know my PCP's name they kept repeating that they couldn't understand me and repeating where they were calling from. They knew my full name with spelling, my address, phone number and DOB.

Got on the phone with a woman with a heavy Indian accent. She identified herself rapidly and calling from Anthem BCBS...she repeated a VERY old address of mine and asked me to confirm to update my records. When I asked her to repeat where she was calling from she spoke faster, then when I asked why she needed this information if I had an active policy she hung up.

I received two calls from 289-800-0303 within an hour this evening. I'm not going to waste my time picking up the phone when the caller ID reads DONTANSWERSPAM.  This number is now blocked so DONTBOTHERCALLING.

3 way dialed it seems. Once before they claimed to be from blue cross blue shield and I told them I no longer had them and then they said they are representing all insurance companies. Broken English and positive it’s a scam

Trying to get my personal info. Said they were my health insurance carrier. I asked ok, name it. They couldn’t get it right. scam

Seemed to have my name and address which is scary- thick accent saying they are from blue cross which we do not use. SCAM.  Hung up.

CID said "don't answer spam". So I didn't answer.

Got call yesterday saying that they were hired by BCBS to update medical records, said no not going to verify anything.  They pushed and I told the woman (heavy accent) that she was calling me from Ontario and why would they be calling me, to stop that I would not answer anything.  She hung up, GOOD!

That number called me yesterday and today and left me a voicemail with a creepy low voice whispering "Hi". I'm soooo all set with the B.S

Got a phone call from 289-800-0303 claiming they were from blue cross blue shield and said I needed to updat my info. SORRY don’t even have them for health insurance! Hung up on them.

That’s just creepy all around

Such a scam. The person calling couldnt even carry on a conversation in English.
Such a scam saying he was calling from "your health insurance company"....really?

Similar situation healthcare BCBS. Fishing for info.  Authorities should look into.

The scammer is asking to verify insurance information and other benefits including what providers the member has seen or is currently seeing. They are also offering to send pain medications, vitamins and other related products.

This happened to me just after I registered at a patient portal company called Follow My Heath. Intresting.

Yes he has called me twice and I pretend to have a Hindy/Indian accent and I use the alias of Aptar Gupta, it really throws him off his script, Screw those people, oh I mean Holy cow please add some curry to this conversation.  I have blocked the number.
