Their rationale for the call, i.e. checking to see if you received a phonebook seems valid enough, but if you pick up the phone and there's no one on the other end to ask you if you received a phone book...then what have they accomplished except to waste everyone's time.  I can't believe that any company would do such a thing.  What value is it to anyone?  Just a total waste of time and effort.

It is a call from Prouct Development in Colorado regarding the Yellow Phone Book that was thrown at the end of my driveway a few days ago.  If you call back there is a recording that states you can remove your number from their list after the tone.

Same as others, no message on the answering machine, automated on the other end when you call back.

It the callers are really verifying the delivery of the phone book, then why don't the say so.  I answered on the second ring and there was silence on the other end: not even a hang-up.  This technique is usually used by telemarketers to check that the number called is an actual number which they can add it to their list of active phone numbers.  The compnay either uses this list itself or sells it to other telemarketers.

A company that calls people and plays animal and human noises such as lions, cats meowing, and farting???

I got the same thing.....animals and gassy sounds!

These idiots call me every day.  I answer and they hang up!  WTF??!!

they keep clling, never leave a message and when i answer they hang up.  wish i knew a way to ittitate them back!

They are not confirming that you got a phone book.  What they are doing is making a list of people who answer the phone and people who don't.  The claim that they are confirming that you got a phone book is just a sham that state so they can keep doing what they are actually doing.  Eventually they will sued into oblivion, but they probably don't even have any assets anyway.

Product Development Corporation (PDC) is a national distributor of telephone directories. PDC utilizes phone calls to confirm delivery of telephone directories. PDC does not leave the survey questions on an answering machine. The Federal Do-Not-Call legislation does not apply to organizations that are not soliciting (selling or marketing something). PDC is not soliciting.

PDC uses delivery verification through phone calls because of the cost and quality of this quality control method. This type of quality control process is done by all the major companies in the distribution of telephone directories. Having said this, PDC is aware and respects that there are individuals that would not like to be part of this type of survey. As a result, PDC has created its own internal Do-No-Call list. If you or anyone else would like to have their phone number removed from our calling lists, please email the phone number you wish to be removed to DoNotCall@teampdc.com.

I would like to reiterate that delivery verification calling is a quality control standard in our industry and that each company that does this type of quality control is responsible for their own list. As such, even though PDC will no longer contact all numbers that are requested to be on our DoNoCall list, you may be contacted by others that do not have this capability.

I been getting several phones calls from this number 303-280-8689.  I think I will turn them in today!!!!

This company has repeatedly violated the Do Not Call Registry.  I turned them in to the FTC today.  it is not legitimate, despite what the PDC poster above keeps whining about.  Any company trying to conduct a survey would not hang up on you every time you answer the phone.

They called me and when I answered there was nothing but dead air. I stayed on the line saying "Hello"
hoping they would finally respond. Eventually they hung up on me without saying a word.
The name on the number was only listed as "Colorado"

They call at least a few times a week and it says Colorado on the caller ID. I do not answer the calls and was just checking online to see if I could figure out who is calling me.

i would not email these guys!  if you email them, then they know its a 'real' and current email.  i would just not answer, and not call back.  if you call them back, they might (and probably do) have caller id's...then they can research your info...to further bother you.    i got the call a few times....and didnt pick up...i guess they gave up :-)  nightmare!  i also get calls from frat ord police...which i thought about picking up...glad i didnt ...turned out to be a scam too

what the hell is a phone book?

Got a call from this number yesterday at around 4pm. I was not home at the time and of course, no message was left. I will not be answering calls from this number anytime soon. They can go to hell......
