Saw this number on caller ID. They must've called while I was out. Says Broomfield CO. I'm on DO NOT CALL list and will not answer this number again. I've seen where lots of people say it is for phone book delivery. I did receive a phone book recently on my front step but I still won't answer this call.

April 13, 2010 - - I received a call from (303) 280-8689 today at 12:12 PM.  I saw PRODUCT DEV and decided I knew nobody from that area code so I did not answer.  They left no message.  Later I called the number and got a recorded message saying they were randomly checking whether people received the phone books.  I do use the phone book (and that is absolutely OK, and not weird either), though with the small print I have to use a magnifying glass!  I do not need two YELLOW PAGES books though, especially not the smaller copy with print so small that it is useless.  But, it makes a good door stop.  This call, according to the Directory, is from Colorado.  But, here in Canada we receive so many scam calls from the USA (even though we are on the DO NOT CALL LIST), that we really do get angry about calls coming from places we do not recognize.  I hope PRODUCT DEVELOPMENT  reads these messages, so they recognize how irritated people can be.

i am on the national do not call list.  how do you get them to stop?

Received a call from this number this morning, and against my better judgment, decided to answer. The line was quiet, no voices or noises, so I hung up.

Per previous posts, it seems they may have been calling to find out if I received the telephone books that were delivered to my business yesterday. I actually would have liked to respond to that, since I was here when they tried to deliver them and I told them I did not want them - so the creeps went around to the side and left them propped up against the fence! Before the weasels could even get out of the parking lot, I picked up their "litter" and deposited them in the recycling dumpster.

On April 23 I received a call from this number, but was not here, so my answering machine picked up. I printed the number from my call display.

There is never an answer!!!  Get a life!!!

On the Do Not Call list - just got called. How the heck are they supposed to verify if I got a phone book when they don't say anything & hang up immediately after I pick up? Or sell me something or do anything except waste everyone's time? I don't get it...

This type of quality control process is done by all the major companies in the distribution of telephone directories. Having said this, PDC is aware and respects that there are individuals that would not like to be part of this type of survey. As a result, PDC has created its own internal Do-No-Call list. If you or anyone else would like to have their phone number removed from our calling lists, please email the phone number you wish to be removed to DoNotCall@teampdc.com.

I would like to reiterate that delivery verification calling is a quality control standard in our industry and that each company that does this type of quality control is responsible for their own list. As such, even though PDC will no longer contact all numbers that are requested to be on our DoNoCall list, you may be contacted by others that do not have this capability.

Regarding the PDC answer: what the [***] are you checking if, when answering, all you get is the tone? Dumb stupid ass!

Got a call today at 12:51PM caller id says:"PRODUCT DEV COR." I am on the do not call list.  No recorded message was played when I picked up the phone

I get so many of these hang up calls. As I understand it, they're scoping out when you're home so they can call back and bother you. A huge PITA to all of us, I know. What I don't understand is why so many of them call me, hang up when I answer, and never call back. Kinda defeats the purpose of pissing me off in the first place, dunnit?
How great is this site, though? Come here, find out who's pissing me off, what other people's experiences have been w/the same number, and move on. Next time I find one of those books on my lawn, I'll know to expect another call. Thanks, everybody, for the ... pardon the expression ... 411. :P

Guess the call was about the delivery of NEW Phone Books...

Received call from this number - we don't pick up on unknown numbers in CallerID, so we let this one go through to the answering machine.  No message left.

From other messages in this thread I suspect it has to do with the telephone book that someone left at our door.  I'm sorry that we did not get to see the person leaving it, as if we had, I would have told them that it was unwanted.  It's going straight into the recycler.  As other posters have said, who uses phone books any more?

I think they are checking to see if you got the phone book that was delivered.
