- EBSCO IS LAME BUT ITS A JOBAlso the Do Not Call list doesnt apply for ebsco either. The excuse is because its for something "you already recieve"
- laughing my ass off replies to its me| 1 replyHAHAHAA I DARE any of you to call your lawyer. Theres not [***] you can do [***]. Its legal. Report us all you want its legal. Sorry your so hostile with people renewing magazines and cant take 20 seconds out of your life to actually see what the call is about and just sit and [***] on this website.
Seriously get a life. Hang up on us and we'll just call back. Call your lawyer. ITS LEGAL. - BethEbsco has been calling to get me to renew a magazine subscription. I called the 800 number (as suggested in other posts above) and asked to be put on DNC list. They were very polite and even offered info on why they were calling me without me asking. It took 30 seconds.... Do it.

- Brian LoughryHi guys, I figured I'd just write this in and let you know. Yes, I have previously worked for this company, and yes they are a GOOD company. Honestly, while I was working there, I actually managed to call my OWN cell phone for a renewal at that time. I understand that it can be annoying, but it's a fast-paced work environment. We DO have a "Not interested" button, and we DO have a "DNC" button located on our screen. Sometimes we do slip up, but our performance reviews are based SOLELY on our accuracy in pushing the buttons according to the phone recordings we keep for quality assurance checks. I apologize to any of those who have received less than pleasant phone calls from Ebsco, but please note, while I'm not presently there, I still feel the need to defend them. They keep people in their apartments by employing the ones that are actually WORTH it. They help your children go to college. They make sure children keep food in their stomachs. Don't call them a bad company unless you're so caught up in your own spite for your lazy lifestyles involving the TV, the LACK of reading your [***] magazine, and your refusal to get off your [***] and pick up the [***] phone.
P.S. I've interrupted people while they were eating dinner, and just shortly after renewing their favorite children's magazine... THEY WOULD THANK ME FOR CALLING THEM. Don't complain, there are plenty of people who still enjoy reading / CAN read. - Brian Loughry replies to EBSCO IS LAME BUT ITS A JOBClearly, if you're not willing to talk positively about the company, you don't respect the company very much at all. I'll call Evan later with your post and all posts from Ebsco employees. Unless Evan moved Offices, than I'll call Nick Ruth or Matt. Doesn't mater to me.
- Brian Loughry replies to laughing my ass offYOU on the other hand, I'm calling your employers about YOU right now.
If I know Nick, seeing as I'm sure hes still there, prolly at the other office now, he'll figure out who did it.
He's good at these things. - Brian Loughry replies to TudorBobI wanted to let you know about how you can get them to stop calling you.
Instead of saying "Don't call me again" Ask them what their offer is, let them turn a few rebuttals, and ask them if they'd discontinue your magazine and place you on the Do Not Call list for the company.
It's the only EFFECTIVE way to get it to happen.
I'm sorry, but it's not always guaranteed that people will push the button, like the disrespectful people with no pride claiming to work for Ebsco in the first page, I promise you though, they won't work there or ANYWHERE for long. I'm FROM Ohio. I'll make sure of it. Ok? - Brian Loughry replies to oneguyI apologize for the lack of a message, it's within our training to continue through the list (which we don't get to see) if it's an answering machine, busy, or if the line is dead.
I apologize for our lack of even AUTOMATED recordings. I'd be more than happy to send them a file for it if they're able to purchase the equipment. - Brian Loughry replies to jIf we don't press "No Answer, Call Again" Our performance rating goes down and we get fired. I apologize for this, but it's best to use your words to settle any issues. Also, with a full staff, it's not guaranteed you'll be speaking to the same person everytime.
Yet again, I apologize. - joI get several calls a day from this phone number.I have caller ID so of course i do not answer.they are wasting their time...

- LukeGot calls while on holidays, never left a message. Was back to work so decided to answer it. Magazine subscription renewal for a magazine I was actually getting. Quick update on info and no more calls after that.
If you answer and no one is there it is usually because this automatic dialer calls multiple numbers at once and when the first person picks up the others get nothing. - Joe in TXIm curious how they could be calling for a magazine subscription I "ALREADY" have when I have NEVER had a magazine subscription to anything.
- Caller: Ebsco
- Phil JI too get calls from these people everyday. Per a previous poster I called the number back and asked them to take me off of their list. The young lady was polite and said it would take 24-48 hours and that I would recive no more calls.

- MarieIn my city, it is now almost 9:00 pm. I was already in bed because I wake up at 4:00 am to go work. These people (EBSCO Teleservice) just called me and left no message in my answering machine; but I can tell from my caller I.D. This company calls my house as early 8:00 am and as late as 9:00 pm. They call at least 3-4 times a day that I can remember. Isn't that an invasion of privacy. Isn't that illegal? I am so annoyed with them. Can't something be done a about them. Do they know how much they annoy the public? PLEASE MAKE THEM STOP D...N IT!!!!!
