- Patty| 1 replyGot a call from very pushy salesman, who tried to get me to re-new on-line. Since he initiated the call, I refused to do it--I didn't want to give out my credit card or personal info under these circumstances.
Then, I received a notice from EBSCO Teleservices in the mail, thanking me for placing my order, and to send them $39.95. I'm furious! I made it very clear to the caller that I would NOT be renewing on-line!!! And I certainly will not be paying this bill. I suspect that this may be a scam!!!!- Call type: Telemarketer

- EBSCO employee| 6 repliesI just started working for this company- and they are calling you to offer you a substantial discount on a magazine that you have/had a subscription to. They are employed by the publisher of the magazine(s) that you have or had.
They use an automatic dialer, the sales rep has no power over who or what number comes up, and if you want to STOP receiving their potential offer- pick up the phone and kindly say "take me off your call list, or do not call". We CANNOT stop calling you unless you say one of these things.
We cannot spend our time leaving messages, we are not aloud to spend our time that way.
They call so frequently because A) no one has picked up the phone and spoken with an agent B) they have no control over the amount of times your number comes up- until a live person picks up the phone and either says yes or no and C) you have not said those magic words, "take me off you list/do not call".
Please be kind to those calling with legitimate offers- it's a job, and sometimes we don't like it but it's how we pay our own bills... and after all, it really is a good offer that they have. - G. in OH replies to LennyYou tell them (kindly please) to take you off their call list.
- EBSCO Employee replies to PattyYou are right- if you did not order this, contact the office that called you and the super will listen to the recording and potentially fire the employee that erroneously placed your order.
I don't like pushy sales calls either, I can relate. - G. In OH replies to Jayne BorjaPick up the phone and request that you be taken off their call list. That easy.
- G. In OH replies to LJAgain, you must tell them to take you off their "call list". The employee should and will push a button and that's that.
