Our Caller ID showed that we received a call from 347-418-0489. No message was left on the answering machine. Could hear lots of talking in the background. Sounded like a "boiler room" full of phone callers.

Received the Yellow Page Call this morning. She asked for the Office Manager, asked my name.  What they do is ask your name and tell you that they received a Cancellation Notice, that they will cancel your ad, send you your confirmation notice and your invoice for the past two years of $499.  It's like back in the 80's when they use to call and claim to be your maintenance provider on your copier and ask for your model number, get your name and then send you a huge supply and invoice of items.  Then argue that it was ordered because they have your model number and the managers name.  Too bad for the Company...Their employee didn't speak good English...She didn't get my name correct.  She called on one of our unpublished numbers and had our address number incorrect.  I had already realized what type of scam this was so I agreed to everything first.  Then I busted her and told her I knew what kind of Co this was and told her all of the above was wrong, even our Co. Name and that I would be reporting this number.

Same happened to me today. I am really scared what is going to happen!

I got this phone call today - regarding a listing in yellow pages for something I never signed up with.

I just received the same call about the yellow pages upgrade.

He basically said:  
"I see that you placed an ad on Yellow Local Directory.com?  You agreed to pay $499 / year for that contract.  Since you have not responded to the request to fulfill your invoice, I assume that you would like to cancel your contract.  I can "cancel" your contract by making up a fictitous name / PO box for your address and this will cancel your contract.  I'm trying to save you money by allowing you to cancel.  If you do not agree, after another year the charge will be $998.00."  If you authorize me to change your account to PO Box 81 and change your name to "Michael Johnson"  then I will proceed.  Then, all you have to do is ignore the mailing.  

I basically said:  
I don't authorize you to do anything.  I don't trust you.  I don't know you.  You don't have any credit card or bank account information on file for me.  I didn't agree to any charges in the first place.  

He said:
Don't I have your correct address and phone number on file?

I said:  
I could look up your phone number and address RIGHT NOW and then tell you that you owe me $499 for charges you made.  

He said:
*click*

These people have called me over six times in two days.  When I finally answered they did have some correct information about my husband.  I asked them to verify the date and time they spoke with him, and what ad in the so called on line "yellow pages" that he had cancelled as I knew we had none.  They kept putting me on hold and transferring me to different people.  These people are professionals and they sound very realisticly sorry when you get upset about the run around, but then when they realize you are on to them they hang up! Dont answer!!!!!!

SCAM!  Just got 3 calls in a row from this number.  On the last, I was able to pick up.  On the other end of the line was a man with a very strong Indian accent asking me if I accept the cancellation of our Yellow Local Directory account that my husband had authorized 3 weeks prior.  I said we have no Yellow Local Directory account and my husband would not have talked to any directory without telling me about it (I am the one that handles that in our company). He said you just need to right down this confirmation number for your husband and tell me you are authorized to accept the invoice that will be sent for 499.99.  (They already had my address and phone information - because it is business information). I said I still could not clearly understand him. He sent me to another party (an American sounding woman).  And she said ok, you agree with everything your representative told you? And you are authorized to take this invoice.  I said I couldn't understand "my" representative and had no idea what they were talking about. We have no Yellow Local Directory account she argued with me for a minute and very abruptly hung up in the middle of her sentence.  I tried to call her back but just got a "this is a number no longer in service" message.

Just got a call from this number... didn't answer and no message was left.

Calls every day, and hangs up everyday.

Annoying idiot.  Reported them to FTC.

Phone rang from this number and I picked it up on the second ring.  No one on theline and no one picked it up.  i waited several seconds and hung up.  I called this number several times but got no answer and not dial tone.  

Pain in the butt.

We got several calls in a row on the same day.  Same thing, these guys are secretive, foreign speaking (hard to understand), wanted us to "agree to receive a final invoice from yellow pages online for $599.99.  They hung up when you got too inquisitive wishing to let them know we had never signed up for the service, etc.
This is an obvious scam.  When you call the number "3474180489" you hear "the call cannot be completed as dialed" Verizon message.  These people need to be reported to the FTC.

They call asking to speak with you buy name on my mobile phone. I tell them this is not a business phone and they hang up. of you  call back there is No answer. The woman on the phone spoke poor english and there sounded like there was a delay, probab a relay service over the internet.

We too got a call from this number at our office.  The man also had an Indian sounding accent.  He asked for the Office Manager and identified himself as calling from the Yellow Pages.  I told him she was not available and he proceeded to talk to me saying that our listing was expiring TODAY and that if I did not cancel it TODAY we would get billed another $599.99, but that if I cancelled today we would only owe $599.99 for the previous listing (instead of over $1000) and no further charges would be made. I said we didn't have a listing with them and didn't even have a webpage...he kept insisting on me cancelling saying that he had called "urgently" because we needed to cancel today...I realized he didn't sound very professional in his manner of talk and how he kept insisting that we did have a listing (according to him since 2009), but didn't provide any further information other than saying "this is ____(bosses' name), right?" and I said "No, this is her office." He then said something I couldn't understand and hung up.  

So annoying and a stressful time when you think you might owe THAT much money!!!

Just got a call from this 347-418-0489 NEW YORK #. A man with a very thick indian accent asked for the "manager" i told him i was the office manager and asked if i could help with with something. He said the owner had cancelled his ad "online" and wanted to verify that with me. I told him that we didnt have any ads with them. He was really wanting me to say the word "yes" He then hung up when i wouldnt agree to. I'm going to call my local police and see if there is anything I can do to help catch these scum bags!

They called saying that my boss had requested cancellation of the yellow pages on-line.  They needed me to authorize them sending us the documents including the invoice for $599.  Then they transferred me to someone who was recording the call and asked me to authorize "payment" which I said I was not authorizing payment but they could send us the documents.  They transferred me back to the first person.  This happened 3 times and then they said well it will automatically renew and hung-up.  New day I get another call from "the manager" who says the same thing and that all I have to do is say yes, don't interrupt, just say yes.  I told him I could not.  He transferred me anyway and I said I could not authorize payment, this went on for a while.  I then told them the call was being recorded and that it was a scam.  I told them they couldn't renew anything without authorization.  They hung up.  Hopefully, this is the end

Got a call yesterday and a call this am with no one there.
When I tried calling them it didn't connect.
If it is the yellow pages thing, they will try to get you to agree and then send you a bill.
Such scams out there.

I just got a call from this number. The man said his name was Jack and was going to give me a cancellation number for my online advertising of my business. I had him repeat himself and told him I had no online ad and asked the name of his company. He responded by saying never mind and hung up.
I tried to call back but number is not working.

I just starting laughing and hung up! Don't give these low life's any of your time. If they claim they are calling about a credit card or yellow pages or want any information from you laugh & hang up!! It's just a scam and they can't get anything out of it unless you give them information..... Be smart and hang up do not answer again. Call phone company & block numbers from coming into your phone line unless you know who they are! And put a block on you credit so no one can run it without your permission!!
