402.403.0668 just called and when I answered "hello" a male sounding voice said "oh, I must have the wrong number" --at that point I just stayed silent on the line to see if they would say anything further and after a time it disconnected.

Automated call... I said answered an announced where they had called and it said oops sorry wrong number? Strange... I called back and some Indian voice recording said person not available leave a message

If you're hearing ... "Hello? pause... waiting for you to answer "Hello?" and then they say "Hello" again... and pause so you can comment to something... and then they finish with "Sorry... I think I've have the wrong number."

The caller's "Hello... etc." is simply a recording. It's a tactic robos use to see if your phone number is still active. If you answer or it goes to voicemail they know they have an active number and add it to their list of fresh valid phone numbers that they in turn sell to other companies wanting to buy a recent fresh list of numbers so they can now spam/scam/robo/phish you.

Got a call from this number today. a man said...sorry wrong number and hung up

I've heard that scam solicitors want a "YES" from their callers to use in some fraudulent binding contract scheme.  It's a darn shame that we cannot trust the world....

Best thing to do is block the area code (or number if the area code is local). They are scammers and not a legitimate business (Chamber of Commerce). You never want to give them any information.

You NEVER want to call the number back. Just because it's a US area code, doesn't mean when you call the number back that that's where you're calling. You could end up being charged a ridiculous amount of money straight to your phone bill. Best thing to do is block the number or area code if the area code isn't local to you

I leave in province of Quebec in Canada. He called me today.  He said: "Sorry, wrong numer" after I talked in french.

called and, what sounded like a machined male voice, said hello a couple of time.  Then hung up

Answered in French and they hung up

(A business in British Columbia, Canada.)The phone rang. I answered with the business name. No response. I answered again, and a voice said "Hello, Hello, Can you hear me now?" I answered with the business name again and said "Is this who you are calling?" He said "Oh, sorry, I must have the wrong number." and hung up.

I pick up and the caller said he had the wrong number?

They just called me from that number... it was a recorded voice that said "hello, hello, i have the wrong number, thank you"

I just a received a call from this number. A young man said hello after I gave out company greeting. After repeating myself he hung up. After reading some of these othere statements it has me rather nervous feeling. Last week someone tried unsuccessfully to gain access to our company credit card and actually called the issuing bank to try to have new cards sent out to him. Thankfully the credit card company caught it quickly and called our General Manager at 6:00 in the morning at their home. I have no idea if they are connected but it is disconcerning.

Today is June 18th, 2017  and it is Sunday. I received a call at 2:16 pm today. It rang while I was on
the phone and they eventually hung up as I could not answer it. I do recognize the number as having called
before. I have never answered it, appears to be a scam and they want you to call them back.
You get charged for the call and they get your info by you calling them back as they then have access
to your full name.

They call on all of my phone lines.  Recorded message that says "hello hello  I have the wrong number" & hangs up

Had to walk across the room to answer the phone.  No one there so I just hung-up.

07/30/19 @8:25am rec'd a call from 402-403-0068 - caller ID stated Bellevue NE ... I answered, ... there was total silence, ... and the line was dropped after that.
