I had a charge on my credit card for $50.00 from "Paypal Friendsaman 402-935-7733"
Have no idea what this is - I never use Paypal!

Yup, fraudulent charges.  Got the same crap -- logged on Credit Card as PayPal with some gibberish -- *minnel or something like that, with a random price of $65.41.  I called the credit card company and they voided it right out.

I have this charge on my account and do not know who it comes from can you advise

Just rec'd credit card statement showing this number as merchant for a $1500 charge against my card. I have no paypal acct relating to this card (A note to whoever the crooked s.o.b. running this scam- don't use even dollar amounts, life doesn't). C.card co said credit was forthcoming. Why is it that some people think they're entitled to money without working for it?

This is a legitimate Paypal number --- while it's conceivable that someone could spoof the caller id, it's unlikely.  If you're really paranoid, call them back on their 800 number before giving out any information...

A charge was made to my credit card that reads: PayPal "Pugetsounds... I did not use paypal to make this purchase for "Professional Services" for $150.00.

The number 402-935-7733 (and PayPal reference) appeared on my American Express bill, so I found this thread.  Then I researched the amount charged and found it is a legitimate charge -- for a cell phone I bought through an eBay store (which processes credit card purchases thru PayPal) -- so it was NOT a scam.

This number showed up on my VISA bill.

I was charged 127.33 also said paypal, but they did not charge my paypal account

when you need to verify you paypal account ownership, this is the number that calls.
We are a games tester jobs assistance company and when we logged into paypal
they wouldn't let us do things until they called and gave us a security code.

I have bank charges from this account that I have no affiliation with. Thieves!!!

just got a call from that number to verify a charge i had made. they provided all the information to me, did not ask for anything personal except my name. i verified i did make the paypal payment and that was it. i don't mind that kind of call, not asking for any info and verifying for my security!

THIS NUMBER CALLED AND REFUSED TO LEAVE A MESSAGE FOR A PRIOR EMPLOYEE WHO HAD ACCESS TO MY ACCOUNT AT ONE TIME..

I have a Visa report idenfitying  this number and a charge.  I need to verify what the charge was for of if it is fraudluent.  Paypal is indicated.

Please advise.

I was checking my CC account and noticed a charge on 2/11/11 that gave a reference number then said Paypal after, then under description of transaction it has this number listed and an even $60 charge.  I have no paypal account and have not used that card at all this month.  I immediately reported my card stolen and they blocked the account.  No actual phone call from the number.  Always be suspicious!

I just had the same thing happen.  Charge on my cc but I don't use Pay Pal and never have.  Was sent an iphone I didn't order and it came from Tacoma Washington phone number 2636557218

Seems like I was the victim of phishing.
