- ZusiquThis is PayPal and the call was legitimate. I called them back and once I verified my information they told me every transaction I made that day and asked if I had been the one who initiated those transactions.
- Caller: PayPal
- Katalina| 1 replyThe number is legitimate. I had a call today from it. After finding this site, I called PayPal tonight to confirm that it was either one of their numbers or not.
The security department that took my call, said it WAS one of their numbers. They had called me to make sure a transaction that came through, was a legitimate transaction.
Before quitting, give them a call off the number on the website under "contact us". Be sure when you log on, that the address bar reads "https" and not just "http".
They are genuinely trying to protect your account by calling.
Never, ever give out your account information when someone calls YOU. A good portion of the time, those calls are just spoofs hoping you'll give your passwords, credit card numbers etc. - MKM| 1 replyI have charges on my credit card statement from Paypal 4029357733 CA... bank says, its towards some mortgage servics, or court steno services.. lol
- p88***ofjUST FOUND BOGUS CHARGE ON CREDIT CARD STATEMENT. SOMEBODY IS GOING TO JAIL

- leenglusian replies to libraryladyI think your credit card number was being stolen. Should report to your bank and police for further help and cancel your cc if there is any further fraud transaction.
- Cathy A.Living in Japan with a stateside number. Moving to the states and just used PayPal to secure temporary lodging. We didn't answer the phone because it came in after midnight.
- albert| 3 repliesI noticed a charge on my credit card for $216.67 paid to PAYPAL *GAF 402-935-7733 CA. I had never ordered anything from such a firm. My bank cancelled the credit card and issued a new number after I filed a disputed claim. I got a response back from the dispute that the person had proof I received the item I had because of the delivery confirmation. Reading over the bank's paperwork from the scammer, I saw it was sent in a Flat Rate envelope. I then recalled a Priority Mail Flat Rate Envelope showing up earler that had a cell-phone antenna etching inside and no invoice, etc. from a gaf in Clemson, SC. It had a delivery confirmation on it that the postman must have scanned to show delivery date/time. I had thought at the time someone must have sent it as a gift and never thought any more about it, laying the envelope aside. The paperwork showed they had sent me an iBoss. I Googled iBoss and it is a router that you hook into a computer to keep children off objectionable sites. I have no need for such a thing as I am an elderly retired military man with no children. There's no way a router can fit into a flat rate envelope in the forst place! This fellow got hold of my credit card somehow. My Paypal account shows no such transaction! I may file charges against this person for fraud.

- BBPurchased an item over EBAY and did not receive it. Tried contacting the seller and they do not respond. Contacted my bank to stop payment on the item and they gave me this phone number. The name associated with my transaction is Austin Tupy from St. Charles, Iowa. My bank is investigating.

- carlthese guys called and didn't leave a message. I called this number back on 3/10/11 and got someone who convinced me they were from paypal. I was dumb but I ended up giving up my cc info. Today, 3/11/11, I have 2 charges to adultfriend finder 610-757-1929 show up on my statement ($26.99, $32.99). I called the number and it was to the billing service used by many of these websites. They told me ( after I had to verify a lot of my personal info including cc ino, billing info, name, emaill addy) that I had been signed up for 2 one-month gold subscriptions to adultfriendfinder. I had them cancel the charges and will see if it's reversed in the next few business days. Here comes the Pain in the butt part: now that my cc info was compromised and those can repeat this at will, I just called the visa lost and stolen card hotline and reported the card stolen. They in effect just cancelled this card and I'll be without a cc until my credit union can replace it. Now I'll have to change all the payment info on those sites that I'm legitimately using and have tied to this card
- Caller: PayPal
- carl replies to KatalinaI was convinced too. check your statements carefully if you gave this person any cc info.
- Fraud again| 1 replyJust got this phone number listed as PAYPAL payment on my credit card but haven't used PAYPAL for over 5 years. Nothing on our PAYPAL account. Charged us $49.28 to STANLEYESMI MA. This electronic age is really getting to be a nuisance.
- Marisa replies to brettIt just happened to me. AAAAAHHHH! 2 charges ($75.00 and $45.00). I called my husband first and aked him why he was using my paypal account. He denied using it, so I called the bank and Paypal. Paypal stated that it is a continuing issue with the same number. I'm waiting for them to re-imburse my $$$. I'm so mad. I did a IP address search on the receipient's e-mail address. Teen in Kansas. If i was anywere near them, I'd knock on their door and kick their butt.
- buyerJust got a call from paypal to verify deposits going into my account and what the purpose of the transaction was. Kind of weirded me out at first but glad that they are on top of it and calling me to ask if it's legitimate since I just opened the account. They have to look out for themselves too....

- Paul Monaco replies to Aries is ScammerNot a scam... really Paypal but as I told the operator THEY are the ones with suspicious activities (the reason they called me) not me. I'm just a buyer (haven't sold on ebay in years) and use paypal for only a couple of paypal-only online vendors in very small dollar amounts. From now on I'm minimizing my use of paypal-only vendors.
- Steve BrownriggI received two charges on my credit card from these people....I don't know who they are and what I am being charged for!
