Have been getting calls from this number for the past few days.  Haven't answered but the machine haas picked up.  They leave no messages.  If you TRULY want to speak to me, provide a number AND a message so that I can call you back when it is convenient for me - say 2am perhaps??  I got a call at 3:45 one morning - yep.....not from this number.... but a solicitation call.   If you don't know me and you have absolutely NO business with me in person, DO NOT CALL.   My front door has a sign on it "NO SOLICITORS, AGENTS OR SALES PEOPLE".  I have now added a note to that stating "LOOK UP THE WORDS SOLICITORS AND AGENTS if you are THINKING of knocking on my door.  So far so good.

I now answer the phone and say nothing.  I wait until the other end says something first.
If a person answers I ask, "Who is this?"
If a machine has dialed you, it hangs up automatically. As it is software doing the dialing.  A few times of this and it will remove your number out of the system as no one answers.

received multiple calls from 416-313-4982. if I answer no one is there.  If the calls go to my answering machine they never leave a message....who are these people????

Do you have a bank account or credit card? You're phone number has been sold to Optimum Communications. Do the CRTC no call list regulations apply? No. You do business with them (the banks). They're allowed to contact you.

It's hilarious when some [***] or [***], that has a grade 2 comprehension of english, (that's considered billingual for Gatineau's in Ottawa and the Public Service), attempts to communicate with you.

from time to time we get a call from 416 313-4982 and noone is on the line.  My husband answers the phone and noone is there. I called them and message says in both english and french from Opto Communications and to leave a message.  I did leave a message and told them to stop calling us and that we do not need any of their products.

I received a call today from this number for credit card insurance. After telling him twice that I wasn't interested, and he continued I hung up.

They just called but I cant find their number any where. They've Called before and if they call again I'm going to loose it. Only difference is mine was a man with an accent of some sort and he was asking for some one who did not live in my home.

Stop the insanity!  Tired of seeing this number # on my cell phone message listing.   I don't and never will answer calls that I don't know (and even some that I do know).

Got a call from the same number Feb. 16/11 416-313-4982, the person asked for me!  They new my name then the line went dead.

Received a call from 416-313-4982. Calling from Optima Communications on behalf of American Express.  Trying to sell balance protections, after "not interested", "still not interested", "still not interested" and "still not interested" they allowed me to hang up.

Don't do that, now they have your number, which is approval for them to keep calling.
They  don't give one hoot about any Do Not Call list.

Try going 2 the site of   http://www.optima.net/  it is the company's personal net site where u can contact them. It is a call from Toronto, Ontario, Canada.

They call for me every Tuesday and Thursday... I don't answer cause I don't know the number.  Hoping eventually they will stop calling.  If in fact it is American Express I will cancel my account with them at once.  Idiots.

They call. Says it's Mary. Looking for the person in charge of our human resources. This is my direct line, so I know they're just fishing.  I have a couple of 1.800 #s posted by my phone that belong to telemarketing companies. I just transer the call to that # and let one telemarker deal with another. I love doing that! :)
