Guy called me, greeted me with salaam aleikem and said he was calling from Pakistan and wanted to inform me about the holy koran; i said not interested and hung up

I just received a call from this number today (Friday August 5) at 6:55pm. The caller didn't speak but played the intro to the Enigma song "Return To Innocence."

Caller showed up as "Anonymous" on my Caller ID. Seems like a prankster with a varied approach judging from this thread.

I received a call from this number [416-861-9381] and the Indian fellow was offering me Air Duct cleaning services. We get calls of this same offer several times per month despite listing our phone number with the Canadian 'do not call list'. He would not identify the company name. I informed the caller that we were on this list, and to kindly remove our number from his. We were not interested in their services. Other callers phone with 'private' numbers.

This person hung up. When I dialed the number the recording first says this number is not available & then says this person is not available. Has anyone done anything about this like call bell & rogers & the National do not call list. I will be calling them all on Fri & see what they suggest. Will keep you informed.

Apparently this number is back in vogue?

In checking this site, I see they called me way back in Oct. 2008. Then it was an East Indian woman at a call centre trying to sell me an alarm system. Today's call was an East Indian male, also trying to sell alarms. He knew my name, but with a white pages in hand, that's no great surprise. As it was showing up as a local Toronto number, I told him I was on Cdn. DNC list and not to call back or I would report him. He apologised, said he had not called before and would not call back - we'll see about that, I guess.

Call display came up 'Anonymous" since apparently they have spoofed the 416 area code.

Obviously a scam of some sort.

Just received a call from this number as well; they hung up when I answered.  When I tried to call back there was a "not in service" message.  

As opposed to it actually being "not in service",  it's possible the person on the other end has recorded the message so that anyone who calls in gets that response.

i got a call from this number abusing me and threatening me. he used bad language against me.

Just received a call from 416-861-9381. From Bell.....Anyway, hung up and called Bell Canada.
After much button pushing got to an operator who, upon hearing about the problem, transferred me to ANOTHER number who told me to call ANOTHER number who told me to call 1866-580-3625 which is the NATIONAL DO NOT CALL number, which I'm already on.

So, I called the "0" number and finally got someone to talk to. Explained that the call from 416-861-9381 was, it appeared to be, a scam call. SHE said it could be legitimate. Yes...LEGITIMATE. When I told her about this site and the number of different outfits that were supposedly using this number she said it was "probably" a research company. WTF.  

In other words..."Don'y bother me".......Bell Canada and it's customer service......

By the way, I called the 416-861-9381 and it's been disconnected......

i got the same message from likely the same person, said they will be in my area and would like to do air duct cleaning

If this clown would phone me about duct cleaning....

Got a call from 416 861 9381 on Oct 7, 2011... didnt bother picking up, but this is clearly a spam number.

got a call from this number, there was no sound from the other side, so I just hang up the phone.

You can googleMap this location and then call the police, print out the location, and report them, or follow there sorry [***] and locate them yourself, then call police, internet Report Security Sites etc...with GPS built in most phones now and satelite decoding, should be easy to trace this sucker, who wants to help, start now, me tooooo.!

found out at website 411.ca that the number 4168619381 belongs to JP PAVING CO.

First call I received from 647 970 9472 that they will come home inspection etc...on Thursday after 6pm. I checked with the building supervisor he reported that there is no such inspection!
I received a call from  some Anonymous Private number and when I answered it was disconnected right-a-way when I said 'Hello' n then immediately I got a call from 416 861 9381 n when I answered there was no one at the other end to talk. It seems that some one is playing mischief but in the search I found many people have received call from the same number!

AGAIN and AGAIN this # 416-861-9381 calls my house often, they hang up , no message, BUT got a voice of a lady as I guess she was "not listening" and when my answering machine came on, she was "chatting" with someone else beside her.  Tried to make it out, but too quiet and quick , but definately they had very very thick accents of a dark colored person, I am NOT prejudice in ANYWAY, just trying to describe and not sure how

Annoyed07, you sent some guy in China $1000 to win a prize? That's about the dumbest things I've ever heard anyone do!

What was the prize a Million Dollars? And the $1000 was to pay the tax… right? Why do people fall for [***] like this?

This no. has attached itself to my VOIP home no. When I call a Bell fab no. the person has to pay for the call because my home no. doesn't appear.

This ohone has been harrassing my phone  lline
