Very threatening

they called today at 1:35 from this number with the caller ID "Anonymous".  I didn't bother to pick up.  I signed up on the Do Not Call list years ago.  It's still active so every time I get a call from scumbags like this I call and report them.  The following is what it states on the DNC website.  (https://www.lnnte-dncl.gc.ca/faqs-eng#an_link04)
"What happens to telemarketers who call phone numbers on the National DNCL?

The CRTC investigates complaints and determines if the telemarketer violated the National DNCL Rules. If a telemarketer has violated the Rules, the CRTC may impose a penalty of up $1,500 per violation for individuals and up to $15,000 per violation for corporations."

I find it supremely satisfying to know that I'm costing these telemarketers up to $15,000 every time they call.  I tell them flat out that I am on the DNC list and will be reporting them and they can expect to be fined every time they call me.  That usually gets them off my butt.  Even if there is no one on the other end of the line you still need to call the DNCL and report them.  It is illegal to receive telemarketing calls between 9pm and 9am so make sure to call the DNC to report those calls as well.  You can also report them to your phone provider and to the police.
When in doubt or if there is no phone number to report I usually find that if I just keep repeating "I don't understand what you're saying" every time they speak it becomes too frustrating for them to keep trying.  They generally have very thick Indian accents.  After half a dozen times repeating "I don't understand what you're saying" simply end with "Have someone who speaks English call me" and hang up on them.  They don't have anyone who doesn't have an accent so they stop calling.  Another trick I like to use is to interrupt them and copy their accent back at them but then resort to the "I don't understand what you are saying" if they actually try to speak.
My favourite deterrent method is to get a coaches whistle and blow it really loud into the phone before hanging up.  It'll deafen them for at least 20 minutes.  Then every time they call just use the whistle.  Don't even give them the satisfaction of being able to swear at you.  Just pick up the phone and blow.
A method I have recently started using is to very politely say "Just one moment, I want to check your phone number on the internet".  That usually gets them to swear and hang up because they know they're busted.  They feed off the innocent and the ignorant and you've just let them know that you are neither.  I keep polka music and death metal music on standby.  I start it up, put the phone on my speaker and crank the volume up to 11.  If the Polka doesn't work the death metal will.
Remember, above all, that these people are trying to steal from you.  They are fair game.

Called me saying he was in my area ( keele and Eglinton Toronto) responding to my advertisement on backpage. Sounded like 35 year old male booking an appointment. Didn't show but got my address, asked if I was alone.. obvious answer for me I said NO.  Checked with bell Canada who is the service provider for this number and it's a house line.

today got a call from this number as well, when picked it up, there was nothing, nobody said anything, that is why i searched for answer and got here.

Got a call From this number claiming I have been sending signals from my computer and they will trouble shoot. They had no first name and no unit number for where I'm living however claimed I was having computer problems.  He claimed he didn't know what a unit was. After that he wanted me to tell him what it ment. He claimed to be from a company in Ottawa . He also gave an address.

The thing is I don't  have a computer and no internet . Scam !!!!!!

He said he was going to talk to his manager and call back . I told him don't bother to call back. He never identified himself and appeared to have an Indian accent.

Had a missed call from this number.  This is very strange as I'm in Canada with my Australian cell phone.

I had two missed calls today, around 3:00 AM from these both phone numbers: 416-751-4382 and 416-861-9381. In addition, I received several "Unknown" numbers around this time. In the middle of the night? I believe, some scammers..

Lady says she is from Windows about error messages on my computer.  She wants me to get phone in front of computer and she wants to show me my error messages.   She gave me an address where she is in Toronto which did not match. 4968 Alness Street.  She reports company #415-465-5921 She says technical person will call in 30 minutes?
