I believe this to be a legitimate phone number from CitiBank.  My wife tried to activate my Credit Card on her Apple Pay.  It didn't work for her and I almost immediately got a call from this number.  I too didn't trust it, so I told her I wanted to call back.  She told me to call the number on the back of the card or the 800 number everyone else has been stating on here.  I called Citi Bank and they confirmed that I should have received a call from their fraud department.  I also was able to get my wife's Apple Pay confirmed.

    Cheers!

Could possibly be a legitimate call.  A lady with accent left VM, saying from Sears(Citibank), something about fraud, blah, blah...I didn't call number in VM.  Logged on to account online and there was a fraud notice. I called number from online and there were 2 charges attempted for ApplePay for almost $1000.   Check your online account or call number on back of card if you get one of these calls.

I also received a call this afternoon from 423 467-6460, the man who called says from citi collection dept . I was specious about the calls so I called rhe citibank back to verify with then if they have called us .  Apparently they said no, we only call their customer with 1800 number.  But, I did notify them about the fraud call.  Since most of people here were report the calls from city bank it tells me our account with citibank is very unsafe.  I think they need to investigated this big group of fraud call.   I am so happy i Google this and found many people were sharing from here.  Thank you!

Received a message from this number.  I had a really time understanding her and had to play the message several times.  I couldn't even understand the name of the bank, I thought she said Databank.  She said she was calling to verify recent activity on my account.  She told me to call 800-825-0493 or the number on the back of my card and gave me a reference number.  I at first thought it was a scam, but it wasn't.  I logged into my Citibank online account and sure enough there was a message there to call customer service.  I called the 800 number she gave me out of curiosity.  It goes to a recording which does not identify the company at all and just says, Please hold while we connect you to extension 0.  Then I'm connected to a voicemail.  How weird!  Citibank definitely needs to do better.  I called the number provided in my online account.  She did ask for the reference number that I was given.  She was verifying if I did in fact open a Citi Simplicity card in January.  I told here yes and I've been using it.  I also told her that I thought it was weird that they are calling on 3/15/18 about a card I opened and have been using since January.  She said it was necessary to verify that I in fact opened it because of a recent data breach!!

In my case this was legitimate CITI card call from the fraud division.

I verified it by calling Citibank directly.

They did not ask any personal information that would help anyone and knew the last charges from the account.  They didn't even ask for my email, only asked if the acccount email DOMAIN was still valid (eg. gmail.com, msn.com, etc.)

I suppose the number could be spoofed.

Of course never give out your SS#, that is almost never asked for these days.  At worse they ask for the last 4 digits.

When in doubt tell them you will call CITI directly, hang up and call the number on the back of your card.

Almost definitely fraud.  They called my place of work which is the wrong merchant.  We have a vendor where I work that set up their merchant name to include my place of work's name also.  A true rep would be able to locate the correct merchant contact info based off of merchant tables.

Caller asked for full credit card number and placed me on hold whenever I asked a question.
Told him to contact me through his official company email with any requests and he has yet to do so.

Claimed to be from Best Buy and trying to confirm that I was the same person that had opened a credit account with Best Buy.  When I said I was not, she asked for my Address to send the fraud report.  I declined to provide and she said I should check with the credit bureau and then call back her number.  Obviously won't be doing so, just another leech looking for an easy target.  Keep looking.  The fact that fraudulent calls have been coming from this phone line since 2016 and it is still active is disturbing.  Someone isn't doing their job.

This is actually a legit number.  I called it and when they asked for my information, I told them I was concerned that this was a fraud and they told me to call the number on the back of the card and ask for Security Investigation.  Turns out they had called me from 423.467.6460 and had asked me to call 866.442.7479.  Incidentally, when I dialed the 423 number, I received a vm directing me call 800.950.5114.  All legit, but unprofessional.  Citi needs to do a better job than this

Received a call to home number yesterday, June 25, 2018.  I don't think my home phone is a 'private' number.  I rarely answer, unless my phone shows me a name I recognize.  The word CITI appeared on my phone in this case.  She said that someone had used my Sears Mastercard recently  < an asian accent >.   She offered a different 'middle' name than mine for the owner of this card.   She started to ask for moe info., but I cut her off saying I hadn't used my Sears card in years -- and don't think its a Sear's MASTER card... just a regular store card.   I told her to freeze the card, if she needed the authorization, and to report it by mail to my address, which I did NOT supply, if she wanted me to follow up.  She advised me to call the # on the back of the card, but I can't find it.  Given these reports, reads like my choice to provide no further info. was valid.  Regardless of whether I get anything in the mail, I'm visiting my local Sears store, and cancelling whatever account they have on file for me.   Alexandra is not my 'real' name, by the way.

Claimed to be from Citibank fraud protection claiming my card was compromised and wanted a bunch of personal information to verify my account and get a new card. I refused, hung up and contacted Citi Fraud’s phone number myself to check. No fraud alerts at all for my card. Scam number, block.

Some lady with a bad accent she will call multiple times until you answer. They will try and pretend to be Citibank by the way they do calls. First of all Citibank doesn’t call you and ask for personal information unless if you called the actual customer service number first... second just say that you rather do it in person. After saying I’m gonna do it in person she lost interest and hung up. Scammer to the bone and I hope karma hits these scammers for trying to [***] over people that work for a living....

Called and left a voicemail referencing my sister's name and a fraudulent charge.  Was directed to call a different number.  Couldn't understand the girl on the phone so wasn't sure what bank or company she was pretending to call from.  Immediately called my mother after (she didn't get it).  Definitely NOT a legitimate call.
