I am one of the unlucky who have a loan thru Drive/Santander.  I have fallen behind due to loss of income.  Every 2 days someone calls. I explain the situation, one will say pay what you can and try to catch as fast as you can,  the caller will be nasty and say's if I don't make full payments, I will probably lose the car, to which reply I am doing the best I can but if you feel you need the car then come and pick it up, to he or she will respond "well even if we pick up the car, we will get our money out of you", to which I reoplied true but it will be only the balance after you ell the car and you legally have to prove what you solfd it for, to which they say they do not have to, so I suggest they talk to the law enforcement office at state of oregon finance & securities, because I have done my homework, they hang up.  But guess what they continue to take what ever money I can pay on the car.  Each time they call they tell me a different story on how to resolve this issue, I finally have syarted recording all my calls.  I just want to pay the car off

I was also an hsbc customer until they transferred every one's account. They are horrible,they called my grandfather and said they are going to reposess my car. I've never been harrased like this before, even if you dont have the funds to give them what ever they need to do let them. i just dont answer.

My car loan was originally through HSBC. Sadly it got transferred over to Santander company. I was unaware of this switch for almost three months, then the calls started. They claimed I was 3 months behind on the car payment, which I was not. Because the payments got sent the HSBC, they were unaware of any payments. It took several weeks, several harrassing calls, before things were "straightened" out. Then they tried to tell me I was late for a payment back in November the previous year...which they weren't even my loan company then! As of the first of the month (regardless of YOUR due date), they consider your payment due. So if your payment isn't due until the end of the month, like mine, they will call and bug you and tell you that your payment is late, even if it isn't. They have put a bad mark on my credit already, which I'm in the process of fighting because it's wrong. There were letters in the mail stating I was behind on payments. I got phone calls the DAY after I made a payment, stating I was late for the month I just paid the day prior. I even got a letter in the mail stating they were coming to take the vehicle if I didn't make a payment soon, which I had just made a payment the week prior. I'm sick of this company! There is no reason to harrass people like this. Calls on my cell, at work, and anyone down as a reference. It's embarrassing to me because I feel bad that other people are being harrassed for a company that I have that can't keep their paperwork straight. But I guess that's what they want. They want you to get mad and upset and pay them. Sometimes more than what you actually owe them!

I recommend for anyone who is unfortunately stuck with this company for any loan. Keep track, a paper track, of any and every payment you have ever sent them. Mark down what month that payment paid for. Cause they will call you and they will tell you that you didn't pay for a month that you actually did. And if you pay them, you'll be giving them an extra payment. Yet their records won't show an "extra" payment, just a payment that was due! Keep track! These people are not only obnoxious, but they are sneaky. I'm going to try and get away from this company as fast as possible. This is unreal. And sadly, I reflect the same image on HSBC for selling my loan without notification to a company like this! Never again....

They keep calling my number asking for a Victor Patterson - someone I don't know I keep telling them they have the wrong number and they still call anyways I need to find a way to report them.

This company keeps calling my 14-year old's cell phone and leaving partial messages.  I called them back and told them to call his number again to speak to my attorney about harassing a minor.

This number is for Santander. Formerly HSBC auto finance. Someone you know may have a vehicle financed through them. Typically they are calling you because the person they are looking for is behind on thier pmt. they will call 20 times a day so get ready.........

I dont have a loan with Drive Financial, not sure why Im getting these calls.  It's 1:50pm and I've already received 3 calls.

Calling a lawyer for what???? A sales call???

Have you EVER priced how much it costs to retain an attorney?? Because if people actually did that, we would never hear every day people saying they're 'gonna call their lawyer". Expenses, court costs, and that's not with the retainer fee!!!

Santander bought out Drive Financial, HSBC Auto Loans and perhaps some more finance companies.
It is NOT only for people with bad credit as I was with HSBC and now Santander has my account. I was one day late in making a payment last month and received 7 calls that month before payment was made. This month, I lost my debit card (don't have checks) and am waiting for replacement to come in the mail for me to make my payments. This will put me about 5-7 days late. I have received at least 5 calls since the due date every day.

Great, I tried to report them to BBB and they can't find the company with the information I have.

It's the first call I get in the morning and the last call I get at night. I don't answer anymore as I do not have an acct with them, but it's still annoying when my phone rings in the morning, waking up my baby.

i received a phone call from this number at 8.05 am PST, on a saturday. i think it might be united cash loans. they continually phone me, and when i block that number, i begin receiving calls from another identified number. i suspect they have several different numbers in their list. it also might be another debt collector. these people are so, so rude. they "hide" behind the numbers they are phoning from and don't even give you the courtesy to properly identify themselves, yet you have to properly identify yourself to them.

Mine was an HSBC loan as well.  It is set to mature in 12-2010.  I have paid over 19,000 dollars back on this loan already, which was originally 15,000.  Greed my fellow Americans is running rampant, these calls to people like us are only beginning.  Now that corporations are full blooded human beings in the eyes of the US Supreme Court, who knows what they'll be getting away with.  Murder, hundreds of thousands of times over already they've committed and been acquitted, well, that is, if they had even been tried, they would have been acquitted.  Corporations are now humans huh?  Well then it is high time we built ourselves a corporate sized guillotine.

This time, they did not hang up right away, but a very nasty woman asked for someone who is a contractor of ours and does not work at this location, when we told her that, she promptly hung right up. I understand that they are trying to collect money, but they do not need to be nasty to our poor receptionist who has nothing to do with this person's situation....
