- Sandy| 1 replyThis is from VINE LINK network. They call our home because we are registered to get calls letting us know about an inmate that is in the Florida Corrections. This man tried to kidnap and rape our daughter 5 years ago. We like to be informed when he is moved to different facilities and what security level he is in. They will also let us know if and when he is released.
- guest replies to SandyI agree w/ Sandy 100%
It IS VINE ... our household was also victimized by a n0w-incarcerated violent felon ... and we also want to know when the scum is moved (especially if scum could gain access to us) ... VINE auto notify system does just that ... VINE called us 06 JUNE 2012 and our caller ID read "UNAVAILABLE 502-213-2798" and we were informed of the scum inmate's movement. - ConcernedCall 502-564-6061. 8-4:30 eastern time and they will help you eliminate your number from the system
- Victim's MomThis is a service of the State's Attorney's Victim's / Witness Assistance Unit. You sign up to find out if the criminal who hurt you is in jail or when his next court date is. If you answer the call, you can press "1," and the calls for that particular court date or jail release will stop.
I am very thankful for the information they have been providing to us.- Caller: Office of the State's Attorney

- TimThis is Vine Link (Victim Notification Service). It is a very helpful system that tells you when an inmate has been transferred or relocated and/or their has been a change in the custody status. If you have signed up with them, they will also send you an e-mail with the same information and the number to call back to let them know that you have received the information you requested. Not only is it helpful for those who were victims of violent crimes, but also for those who have a loved one who is in custody. Not all inmates are violent offenders. My brother is non-violent and in custody because he suffers from fetal alchol syndrome and little was known about it or how to treat it at the time. Had this been known early on, he would have been treated differently and we could have placed him in special programs. He would have been able to avoided the lengthy sentence he was given for his non-violent offenses. Because he is "different" he falls prey to many schemes and takes the brunt from fellow inmates and staff alike. We like to know where he is and how often he is moved as we nearly lost him due to mistreatment from prison guards. At times, the VINE service seems to be our only connection.

- TheresaPeople, you have signed up under a victims' notification on the status of an inmate. The status of the inmate has changed and you need to answer your phone and press the ID # that you set up when you signed up to be made aware of the status of the inmate.
If you did not set it up personally, then someone set it up for you, OR you have received a phone number of someone that had it in place. The directions are ON the phone call when you answer as to what to do if you wish to not receive anymore calls, if the number does not belong to someone who registered, etc.- Call type: Non-profit organization
- jeezz replies to anonymouschange your number. you would think after 2 years you would change it haah
- Lisa ThorntonI keep getting calls from this number saying it is for inforamtion I have registered to receive and to enter my PIN. I have no clue what it is about. I have not registered for anything and the calls will not stop.

- mike b| 1 replyThis is not a correctional facility. They will ask for a 4 digit pin to stop calls. Whatever you do dont give them any pin that may be used to lock personal information (i.e. your bank pin) this is a classic example of a "fishing scam" they are trying to harvest personal information from you!

- MI Crime Victim replies to mike bThis is legitimate organization based in Kentucky and used by most states. It notifies crime victims and interested parties of court dates and changes in the custody status of the offender. The reason for the PIN is to verify the victim actually received the message. I use this program and it may have saved my life. The offender was accidentally released. VINE called with the notification. I contacted the appropriate authorities and he was back in custody within 1/2 hour after I received the notification call.
If you are receiving offender status change notifications and you didn't sign up for the program it's likely the case is older. Your number was likely the victim's or other interested party's number and s/he didn't change it in the system. Notifications can be done be phone, email and/or text message.
Contact Appriss (1-866-277-7477) for assistance in removing your number. I forgot my password once and they were great at getting it figured out. Or go to their website www.vinelink.com for contact information. - MI Crime Victim replies to KimahaVINE (Apriss) is NOT a scam. It is a crime victim notification system. I've been using it for 18 months. It notified me that offender who assaulted me had been released. He was not supposed to have been released. After receiving the notification call, I contacted authorities and he was back in custody within 1/2 hour after the notification call. That call may have save my life. The PIN is to verify that the victim actually received the notification.
Know what you're talking about before yelling to the world what an idiot you are. Ever heard of research? I hope you or someone you care about never needs this service. If they do, you'll be grateful it exists.
If someone is receiving offender status calls and doesn't know the offender or the case, it is likely the case is older and the phone number belonged to the victim or someone else following the offender and s/he forgot to change it in the system.
