Wells Fargo has a fraud department. 1-866-867-5568. I don't think they're taking me seriously because A) I'm not a Well Fargo account holder and B) I'm reporting a phone-based phishing scam. Yet one person at Wells agreed that this sounds fishy and they wouldn't request account numbers like this from a non-800 based number.

Remember, if you're not sure if somethings legit, call the bank directly from the number listed on their website or the back of your card. Even if the person on the line from the suspicious number is threating to cancel/lock your account or report you. Cuz that's way better than having your bank account drained from $7,349.87 to $0.00.

Got the calls yesterday and today, googled it, found this site, called wells fargo.. apparently I was a week past due on my cc payment, so the agent said that they have multiple outgoing trunks, and this could be a legitimate call, but that you should never give your cc # or personal info out on the phone.

i dont think this is a legit call--my account is perfectly fine, i have no overdue credit card fees nor anything abnormal about my account as confirmed by the WF numbers actually listed on their site.  I don't know what's up with these series of oregon, iowa numbers but ít's sketchy as hell.

I used the White pages reverse look up and it says the number is a landline in beaverton. It even shows a map of where it is:

This is Wells Fargo calling regarding a missed credit card payment.  No lie.

I have gotten numerous calls from this number. Never leave a message. So I called them back - they introduced themselves as Wells Fargo Financial (I have Bank of America). They asked me to verify my last name, social security number (not just the last four digits) and my current address. I said no, I have BOA and they hung up. Oh well.

This is legit.  My Wells Fargo CC was 5 days past due (oops) and they were calling to remind me to make payment.

I've been getting about 5 calls a day from this number. Every time I pick up they hang up. Im not in debt with Wells Fargo.. I dont get it. Sounds like a scam.

i used to be a wells fargo customer, but no longer.  i now belong to a credit union -- no more evil banks selling my personal information!

my next step is to contact my old branch and give them hell.

Got 2 calls from this # is the past 2 days.  We also received 800# calls from a "WF" #.  They are still at it.

they hace call me about 10 times at day and I answer and he says that some says that a was responsible to pay 100 dollars. He says if a don't pay they will call they police

I called the Wells Fargo 1(800) number from their website and asked them if they could verify that this number came from someone within their organization.  They could not and recommended that I change my credit card number.

Also getting many calls daily from this number on my cell phone.  Called back and received Wells Fargo card services.  It may actually forward you to Wells Fargo if you don't enter your number (phished) so I gave them the number and they claim they will have the fraud dept. investigate.

p.s. It can't be a call about a delinquent account like what was guessed above by several users because we do NOT have Wells Fargo.
