Called me twice today. Twice in one day!

Telus user, got one of these calls on my work number and home number.  Just hangs up.  When I call back I get a number is not in service message.

I just got a call on my cell in BC from this number.  This is not the first time.

i only use my phone for emergencies but they got it and called me. i did NOT pick up

Who can stop them?

"Congradulations, you have won $2600 travel dollars... to accept the prize press 1 now..." in a bad British computerized voice.

I just waited without hitting anything, and their side hung up automattically.

What happens if you don't do anything? I answered, and waited for further instruction, or a company name....then hesitated as I pressed 1. Seems the airspace went blank and then I realized it was undoubtedly a scam afterall. Will anything happen? Will I get a bill? eek.

This is criminal... first our phone companies sell the first 6 digits of our phone numbers to companies like this (automated telemarketing). Then we get charged for the long distance on our cell phones! I called my cell company to get the charge for the call sent to the company (the telemarketers) but they said there was nothing they could do. They told me I should just not answer these calls. What? My phone company telling me not to answer my phone! There is no way to track the number, so I can't even send them a bill personally. Our phone companies are abusing us!

Three cheers for call identifier.  I don't answer anything I don't recognize -- haven't offended any friends yet. No long distance charge on this Montreal call......yeah!

They called to my cell in Vancouver

well i looked at it and didn't know where 514 was from so .... let it go to voice mail.  I can call back.  Perhaps when pigs fly!  thanks to all for reporting the scam. II will go back to enjoying my day.  Now if only there was a category for "SCAM"

They called my Telus cell, I didn't answer, they left a blank message.

Called Vancouver. Didn't pick it up, checked here.
I always keep these sorts of numbers and label them 'junk'. After about 10-12 different ones, all named junk, I rarely get new ones. They just show up named 'junk', and I can just ignore them.
Better phones can put them all in one caller-group, and give the group a silent-ring option. Blocking them, in effect.
