Had it in Manitoba too. I have now had it on 3 phones, all different carriers... MTS, Westman, and Rogers. Hung up on them all.

I didn't answer but when i called back a recorded message came on and said the number was out of service...i text them and said DONT EVER CALL/TEXT ME EVER AGAIN

Revenue canada is doing this people! Seriously I know!

Called my cell too. Someone needs there fingers cut off.

I live in Brandon Manitoba and I got a call from this number on April 22/10 at 1:16 pm.  I answered before I looked at my call display which said the call was coming from Kansas.  I have MTS, not Rogers and I don't know how they got my number either

I didnt start recieving any calls like this till i signed up for the National Do Not Call list... I have had the same cell number for 2 years and signed up for the do not call list about 6 months ago before the sign up i got not telemarketing calls on it, after i signed up ive gotten 15 telemarketing calls or so that list is a joke. it does the opposite of what they say it does!!!

Said I'd won 3000 "travel dollars", press 1 to accept.  I hit 0 instead, they hung up.  :-P

i just got this too,  yesterday on my cell then today on my wife's cell...  are they targeting families? if its a dialing machine it must be going in reverse cuz my last 4 digits come 6900 digits before my wife's in numerical order....

wierd thing is that the number that phoned my wife is 514 204 9988 and the number that phoned me was 514 204 8989

AND NOW BOTH THE NUMBERS THAT CALLED ARE DISCONNECTED ??

AND yesterday when i called the number back the guy told me he had the wrong number,,  btw he didnt have a french accent..  its was canadian english..  but today the number is out of service

I'm in Ontario and with Telus..they just called my cell and I didn't answer; like other coplaintants, no one but hospitals and family have my number. When I called back from my land-line, I too got the recording that the number was not in service:(    this is very anoying!!!!!

Just got a call from 514-204-8989. don't bother calling your carrier as they do SFA.. Don't bother calling CRTC as they don't care either. Answer the call yell at the individual, blow a whistle , tick them off as much as you ca. But u can also raise as much hell as u can with your carrier....don't go on a do not call list...somehow wen you do you get more calls.

Had a call on my cell at 5:20 PST. No one has my cell number. As a rule I don't answer the phone as I only use it in emergencies. Never answer my land line either unless I know the caller. Even then I don't always answer.

It's illegal to make telemarketing calls to any number where the receiver pays for the call, this includes cell phones.  If your cell phone is on the DNC list, then the telemarketer is liable for the penalties for BOTH offences.

Just as a curiosity, my company has 7 or 8 pagers, and the pagers get called often with the same automated message, which is hilarious because the pager system only records the message, there's no way to "press 1" or anything.  And the pagers cost per message received, so it's illegal to call them too.

If you have called them back and got a "not in service" recording, check your next phone bill - if you see a charge for a call to the number, then it's a fake recording from the telemarketer's switchboard, not a Bell Canada one.

called my cell # only few have my cell #; How are they getting the #s

Just got a call from this stupid number after 10pm tonight...I WAS in bed asleep...and this isn't the first time it's happened either.  Sadly, I signed on for the DNC list too when it first came out, and get all sorts of telemarketers calling me.  Only a few people have my cell #, and I never got calls until I registered for that stupid list, so needless to say, I am ticked.

This call was a long distance incoming call to my cell phone.  I didn't answer it because I didn't know who it was and they didn't leave a message.  Of course, they called after 10pm on a Sunday night.  When I tried to call the number from my land line (blocked before I dialed) the number came up "not in service".

I just got a call from this number...I live in London Ontario...I didn't pick up because I didn't know the number...How are they getting my phone number?????
