This number calls me all the time! Why?

I got a call last night at 7:33 PM and sine I wasn't home they left a voice mail.
Very disturbing, the message left said "You sound hot" and then nothing.
It was a man speaking in english and very quietly.

I got 16 calls in one week...each one saying HELLO HELLO on my answering machine...I just called the above number and told them to take me off their list. The lady who answered was polite.

I too started to get many calls from 514-843-5554 (I am in the Montreal area).  Very annoying, as they call many times a day.  I would suggest (if you have the time...) to set a fax machine every morning to dial that number say 1000 times per day.  This is just a fun idea and please post your results.  ;)

it is the gazette. they are annoying. When they try to sell me the newspaper, I said I don't want to read English or French paper, I read only spanish newspaper. They still try to sell me the paper. There must be some kind of call blocking feature to block them

I got a call from this no this morning. I do not know what to do!

Just call them and say you want to be placed on the do not call list.  It will last 3 years.  The guy sounded nice so no need to yell at them IMO.

I recieved 6 calls today alone and have been recieving multiple phonecalls daily for 2 weeks now!!!

This is just one of the many unknown callers that call pretty much on a daily basis...getting reaaaally annoying! I just called back and it didn't even give me "the gazette" ...all I got was an automated message saying that some dude's voicemail is full and to try calling later...What the hell is going on?? I already set up my phone with videotron in order not to get any telemarketing calls and it was working up until a couple of months ago when I started getting calls from that number and other 1-866 numbers..harassment much?U6H9

To those suggesting the National Do Not Call List as an answer to your problem, it seems that the most annoying offenders are exempt:

When you register on the National Do Not Call List, you will receive fewer telemarketing calls, but there are some exceptions including:

   * registered charities
   * political parties and candidates
   * opinion polling firms or market research firms conducting surveys
   * newspapers calling to sell a subscription
   * organizations that have a business relationship with you, for example:
         o you’ve done business with the organization in the last 18 months
         o you’ve inquired about the organization’s products or services in the last 6 months

And you know it was a "black lady" because...?

They have been calling us repeatedly, as well.  We haven't been subscribers in years.  They have tried giving us free months of the paper, sometimes without asking, then badgering us again to ask if we would like to keep it and become a paying subscriber (NO!  How often do we have to say it?!).  They still call every so often, and the "do not call" list doesn't do anything to stop them, since newspapers solociting subscriptions are exempt.

The company's name is Teleze.  They are a call center for the Montreal Gazette newspaper.  They would have called you to see if you'd like to subscribe to the Gazette.  If you want to ask to be placed on their do not call list and can't get through at 514-843-5554, call them at one of their main phone numbers: 514-843-6501 or 514-843-9400.

when I called back, the recorded message stated: "Thank you for calling Telease"(not sure of spelling)
