This isn't a fraud but a call from GTL. The company handles calls for California inmates. I California any inmate can make a call without being on an approved list. If you're getting a call from this number and don't know an inmate you're getting scammed. Block the number and move on.

its not necessarily a prank call. Many folks on the inside are trying to get in touch with thier loved ones but thier numbers have changed or maybe even misdialed. It can happen to anyone

This number I set three more times but I could not answer the only thing that when I returned the call told me that it was a correctional

I recieved a call from the above number...713-568-6986. They are calling me from the California Statewide Inmate Family Council.

Got a computor call from san quinten prision would not let me refuse so i powered off my number and  reported to my ph carrier.Now posting for you.Do not answer this phone number 713-568-6986

Number says from Texas but from a California inmate.  I blocked the number but still received voice mails

when I answered the call it started off with something about bank accounts.  I hung up.  they called back.  msg is "will be monitored and recorded for a solid.

it is a call from an inmate using GTL (global tel link),they are based in houston and all calls from inmates using their system come routed via this number.
inmates normally get 1-3 free calls then you need to get a pre-paid account for them to call you.

What prison is this number from?

Thus number has called me twice now. I do not know who this is.

I don't know who is calling me from this number and I don't know where this number is I would like to know who it is why are they calling me please thank you so much

If a family member of mine is in prison I will learn about it from another family member, not this scam. It's 2017 and they're still trying to do this type of ish!!

I got this number calling me 4 times a day my boyfriend is in prison and I have account set up with Global Tel Link but I am getting tried of getting this call everyday I have it set when my boyfriend does call me his picture comes up plus he is in forks wa I want to know how they got my number I called the number and the customer rep was a dumb [***]  I asked them how this prison in California which has a Texas number by the way got my number and he didn't know all he offered was to block inmates from calling me I told him that my boyfriend is in prison but in forks wa  and he needs to call me basically he told me nothing so since my boyfriend is in prison I have to keep getting theses phone calls I just want to know how they got my number since I do have a global tel link account

Is there a way to find  out which facility it came from!

So, now it's like is our fault for they feel "SO LONELY" and we must pay for them to have an amusement time calling whoever agree to answer/add money to their accounts. Un-freaking-believable.

If you don’t have any family that are inmates, then they probably accidentally misdialed

Received a call wanting us to accept a collect call from an inmate.  Hung up, told them wrong number.

They are calling me and I don't know who it is
