Someone in L.A. tring to get you to send money to get 'em out of jail....

I received a call from this number today..It said I had a collect call from an inmate. Then it hung up.

We keep getting these calls to call 866-607-6006 - company name : Global Tel Link or accept this collect call also linked to this number 877-650-4249. We looked up the 877 number and it is a spam phone number.  It all goes back to this number that keeps calling us 713-568-6986 with voice message - from offender Anthony from Colorado Dept of Correctional Center.  We know no one in jail or Colorado and we traced the 713 are code to be the area code for Texas (Houston) area.  So caller be aware

Got this call yday. No msg. Today I get a call from an 800 number telling me I need to add funds to this account. Don’t know anyone in jail. Seems like scam to me. Someone needs to check this company for scamming.

They are calling non stop.  Several calls repeatedly.

Like others said: a recording asking if I wanted to receive a call from an inmate. I know no one in prison so I hang up but they didn't stop calling so I simply blocked that number.

Got 2 calls from this number - said it was from "Texas".  When I answered an automated voice said there was a collect call from an inmate.  So I hung up.  Like others I have since received a couple of phone calls from 1-800-483-8314 saying my cell provider does not allow or pay for these collect calls.  I just hung up.   Nice to see they have been running this scam for quite a few years - would hope they would have been shut down by now.

this number called me today and yesterday, I don’t know anyone from Texas therefore I didn’t answer. But I did get 2 voicemails saying “your being controlled and recorded, please wait.” but in Spanish (I translated it). The voice sounded computer generated almost like Siri, but in Spanish. Anyone had the same problem? Do you know why is that?

Inmate calling service - probably pedophiles looking to hear a little boy's voice so they can masturbate.

Give a guy a break!  If you are getting a call from this number, it is probably someone you know trying to get in touch with you from the state prison. Nothing scary about it...answer the phone for gods sake!  You accept the call and talk to the person, if it's not a loved one, tell them they have the wrong number so that they don't keep trying to desperately try calling their loved one.

you should answer a call like this it is probably someone you know trying to let you know where they are.

It's the last number they knew to call.  Give a guy a break!   Answer the call and tell him he has the wrong number.  They are stuck in this prison and are given one call a month, they are calling you and they think it's their loved one. Be nice enough to tell them they have the wrong number an maybe help them connect with their family.

how do you know you don't know anyone in prison if you are not answering the call?  At least you could do is answer it and let the poor guy know that he has the wrong number.
