Joseph call me yesturday  he want to text his brother  he gave me  wrong number  have him text  me I do know no money my card

This number called my work number 3 times after hours. Only part of a message: "May be recorded" and that's it. I don't know anyone in prison and even if I did, why would they call my work number after hours?

Didn't recognize it either. Answered, call lasted 2 seconds before other party hung up.

This isn’t a scam my husbands in California correctional institute Tehachapi and this is the number he calls me from.

Got two messages in relation to collect call from an inmate. This is a scam. I have another cell that I never give out and got a call there too a day later..

Just got a call from this number. As I answered it, recording said "you have a collect call from" Shawn. Probably is from a correctional facility given that format. I'll add it to my blocked numbers.

Beware.  The number calling you is from a prison inmate over a telephone system installed in prisons, called Global Tel Link.  TGL is a company that allows inmates to place what used to be called  "collect calls".  They pre-charge the recipient of the call via a credit card number. GTL is a legitimate business, Apparently prison inmates have figured out how to use GTL to get access to credit cards,and thereby illegitimately pad their GTL accounts with credit card prepayments from strangers (vs. legitimately from their families).  DO NOT GIVE YOUR CREDIT
CARD to avoid getting scammed.  Best advice:  call your telephone carrier with both numbers, the one calling you and the GTL number.  Your carrier will block both numbers from future calls.

Scam. The 713 area code is from Texas. Recording says, "inmate at South...(something?)...Conservation Camp in...(city?)...California."

This number called me at 11:40pm. I was livid when I saw on the caller ID that it wasn't a number I'm familiar with, and not even an area code in my state. I answered it ready to tell someone off, and it was an automated voice from GTL telling me that I had a collect call, but I couldn't even understand the person's name. I have read where others said this is a number for prisoners to use to be able to call and talk to their loved ones. I do not know one single person that is in prison, so this has to be a scam, at least for me it is. I certainly don't appreciate being called that late at night either. I would love to give these people a piece of my mind!!

I got a call from the same number saying it was a youth prison. California Dept. Is what my caller ID showed.

I did not recognize the number, but it was from Houston, TX.  I assumed it was a Correctional facility.  But, they called (3) times back to back.  I am blocking this number.

got 9 calls said it was from prison in california , nothing but a scam did not answer the area code given is from houston texas not calif.

because someone dialed your phone number? You can solve that confusion by answering the phone. Then you won't have to go to your death bed wondering what that call was all about.
