Who Called?

Lady with heavy Spanish accent wanted to know if I shop at certain areas of my city. I told her I shop at Wal-Mart. She asked me about certain areas of town. I said no and she hung up on me. Humm. I don't get it. What were they hoping for?

I got called twice today. First of all its a call center for telemarketing. They get business from hundreds of companies and they call you. Thats why its a different survey or sell each time. Its not a rapist trying to get info for Gods sake. Plus surveys are exempt from the do not call list just like any charity or political thing. Plus if you have ever ever done business with a certain company they can call you. The donot call is a laugh. Just answer the call with" So and so police dept, officer so and so, how may I help you" if they persist tell them they are interfering with police business and they will be investigated and fined and or proscecuted. That stops them dead in the water and they wont call you again.

Male English speaker called and ask if our phone a business phone. My wife said yes and he hung up. We will see if we get slammed with spam calls. We are also on the do not call list.

This number was a survey company asking for Latino / Hispanic family members. I dont know what for since I was not a Latino. Some survey.

Telemarketer - I totally agree with 'mulberrygal'.  Answer the phone as a police department and they stop calling.

Datascension, Inc. Reports First Quarter Financial Results

LAS VEGAS, NV – May 17, 2010 - Datascension, Inc. (OTC BB: DSEN), a global outsourcing solutions company, today announced financial results for the Company’s first quarter ended March 31, 2010.

For the quarter ended March 31, 2010, the Company recorded a net loss of ($194,723).  Total net revenues decreased to $2,702,191, from $3,773,187 a decline of $1,070,996 or approximately 28.4%.   Cost of goods sold decreased to $2,417,430 from $3,106,504, a reduction of $689,074, or approximately 22.1%, from the prior year period. For the quarter ended March 31, 2010, the Company generated earnings before income taxes, depreciation and amortization of $60,686 or 2.2%, compared to $246,473 or 6.5%, for the quarter ended March 31, 2009.  

Total selling, general and administrative expenses decreased by $63,149 or 14.4%, to $374,179 for the three months ended March 31, 2010, from $437,328 in the prior year period. The decrease in expenses is mainly due to reductions in executive salaries combined with a reduction in administrative costs.

Interest expense increased by $11,654, or 8.0%, to $157,599 for the three months ended March 31, 2010, as compared to $145,945 for the three months ended March 31, 2009.  The increase in interest expense was primarily attributable to increased borrowings over the prior year period.

Basic and diluted loss per share was ($0.01) for the quarter ended March 31, 2010, as compared to basic and diluted loss per share of $0.00 for the quarter ended March 31, 2009.  At March 31, 2010, the Company had cash and cash equivalents of $215,666.
Revenues decreased as a result of several factors including: (i) challenges associated with the continuing global economic turmoil for both Datascension and its customers; (ii)  heavy price competition within the industry resulting in longer sales cycle and/or lost opportunities; (iii) shift to heavier use of in-house call centers; (iv) increased use of more cost effective, on-line data collection rather than telephone interviews; and (v) internal initiative to eliminate business that does not meet our profitability hurdle rate.

I could not agree with you more.  I hate those survey calls!

Got this call on my cell; I'm suppose to be on "opt out"!  I don't answer any calls I don't recognize any more.

Call Datascension's other number (1-888-996-9238) and ask to be put on their Do Not Call list. You do not have to provide your name or email. Can't hurt. They already have your number and keep calling anyways. :) Otherwise, I'm not sure what else to do.

The guy only asked if we let clients pay with American Express, I said yes he said Thanks and hung up...?!!!

We got a call from this number this morning, they hung up when I answered, then this afternoon it called and I gave it to my husband to answer, they said is this Rhapsody?. he said no and then they hung up.

Weird and we are also on the do not call list.

I received a call moments ago from this number. It was 9:50 PM my time. Aren't there laws reguarding what time people can call? I thought it was 9:00 PM. Anyway, he wanted to know if this was "my business" and I said yes. And then he asked if I took American Express. I asked him what he wanted to purchase (my business is a concession stand LOL) and he said he wanted to purchase something from me and pay with American Express. I told him I thought he was a scammer and he said "whatever" & hung up. Wondering if I should report this call to someone and if so does anyone know who I should call?

Bizarre.

They even call Canada, PITA!!! We have also a no call list, but rarely gets enforced. Love to get their home numbers and call them a thousand times a night!! Thanks for your input people, now I know I'm not the only one!
