calls every day asks if anyone speaks spanish

Called and asked "do you take American Express?" (knew my company name). I asked "who's calling"? Male caller responded, "I'm just calling to see if you take credit cards." I said, "well, I won't tell you unless you tell me who YOU are and why you're calling." Caller thanked me, bade me good day, and hung up.

They also just called my company and asked if we take "American Express". I told them that I didn't know and that our accountant was out for the day. He said "Do you take Visa or Mastercards?" I told him again that I didn't know and then he hung up.

We run a campground business, so the business number is also our home number.  We just got a call from this number.  When I answered, they simply asked if we took American Express, I said yes, and they hung up.  Not an odd question considering we're a business, but I was suspicious due to the fact that we do get lots of scam calls, and the number showed up on caller id as the name.  I've heard of scams where they record you saying yes to something, and then send you something in the mail you didn't order, or send you a bill for "advertising" that you didn't agree to.  Not sure what the scam is here, but there's something fishy going on for sure.

I just got a call on a fax line, then on the voice line from this number. He ask if I took American Express and then said he was asking for his wife.

They phone Canada too,
A guy asked if I take American Express.
I asked him where he was phoning from.
He hesitated for a moment and then said his wife was coming to Canada and
would like to know if I took American Express.

I received a call from a woman with a middle eastern accent who wanted to know if they could pay by credit card for my services.  I told her they could through Western Union as I noted the number was not from the Vancouver area it was a 714 exchange.  This woman speaking in broken English stated that her mother wants to know if she could pay by credit card, which I replied again as above.  She then wanted to know if her mother could come to my office and pay me directly with a credit card, which I then asked this woman where her mother resides, to which she replied, "Canada", which I replied  Canada is a pretty large country, could you be more specific.  She then asked one more time about credit card service, which I gave her the same answer as before, she then said "okay" I will try someplace else and hung up.  Pretty weird and suspicious.  Upon checking the number on the web I came across this site and thought I would add this information to the list for what it is worth.

I received a call from this number and when I answered a woman who sounded middle aged, no accent, asked if I took American Express.
I asked who was calling, and again she asked "do you take American Express".
Again I asked who was calling and she hung up.
One thing everyone should keep in mind here, is that these people who are calling from this number are more than likely checking this "report it" site to find out what comments we're making here.

Called 10:00 wanted to know if I took credit cards.

Get several calls from this number and they hang up every time.

Received a call from a man with a foreign accent (Hispanic?) asking if we took American Express. After telling him no, he then asked if we accepted Visa and Mastercard. After telling him we did, he thanked me and hung up.
He called from a number (714-551-5502) listed in San Pedro, California and we're in Dallas, Texas.

I'm another Canadian resident getting a call asking if my business takes American Express. The man had an accent (India) and was quite rude. He said he wanted to do business with my company, he knew my company by name, and when I asked him what specific service he was interested in buying, he got quite mad and was very evasive. He insisted he was a customer and just wanted to know how he could pay me. I asked if he was taking a survey and he didn't answer, just insisting that he wanted to know how to pay me. He got quite angry and tried to make me feel guilty for not helping a customer.

This is very deceptive and should be stopped.

Got several calls. Finally answered and heard babies crying in the background and two women laughing. When she finally started to speak she told me that her name was Lisa and she was calling from Ipsos Ried. I told her how unprofessional she was (due to the laughing and talking with her co-worker) and she actually apologized!!! She then said she had the wrong number. LOL. I asked how she knew she had the wrong number since she was conducting a survey? Had to be a man over 50 she says. I then asked her where area code 714 is and she hung up. These people who waste my time are no fun anymore. I never get to finish asking all of my annoying questions.....LOL

I just received a call from this number. Lots of background noise ... a call center, perhaps?  The accented (deeply accented) female wanted to know if any of our customers pay with American Express.  I asked her where she was calling from and she angrily questioned why I would ask such a thing ... and then demanded that I answer her "simple" question.  

I told her that I needed to know who I was talking with and where she was calling from before I'd consider answering any of her questions.  She told me she was calling from "home".  When I asked where "home" was, she shouted something unintelligible before hanging up.

This number called and asked if we took American Express and I said yes, how may I help you and they hung up...very odd.

some survey person had to hang up on her , because i told her several times i do not do surveys .

It could also be a magic jack user.

There are ways to use magic jack to have any phone number you want.

Calls constantly, leaves no message.  ID for caller has AA after the number

i have received several calls from this number. my answer machine hangs up before any message is left. i also am on the National Do Not Call List. Whats the sense in having a do not call list, if it is ignored? they probably use the do not call list for numbers to call......if they charged for stupidity maybe things like this would not be so prevalent
