They called ME today. I should have picked up and left it off the hook. I *69d them. We need to leave it off the hook! Survey Shmurvey! They want to sell you something..or have OTHERS sell it. Too bad about the disabled one here. I'm a Democrat voted for Barry. But folks need to be trained for useful work or disabled not electronic panhandling! The funniest Seinfeld involved a soliloquay with an unheard telemarketer.

    ROFLMAO

t quintering, So sorry to be the one to tell you this, but I have rights too. Try to see it from my side. I don't like people telling me that they have a right to control what I do. By that I mean if I let you con me into spending my time with you on the phone you are controlling me. If you think I have to listen to you, you need to take a course on human nature. You like to talk about Karma. Karma can go both ways.

To all the people who think this is actually a "job", maybe you should have been awake in high school and learned an actual skill, or something else that would be of value to a real, wealth-creating employer. All of you are maggots who only suck the life blood out of what little is left of the American economy. Learn something about economics. Your companies only generate money-for-nothing, and in effect, make everything more expensive for those of us who actually MAKE something. Build birdhouses, raise tomatoes, bake cookies or pies, knit baby clothes, but get doing ANYTHING constructive and positive, and realize all of these "survey" and "marketing" companies do nothing but make gobs of money for the owners while they pay you as little as possible ( BECAUSE YOU HAVE NO WORTHWHILE SKILLS ) to ANNOY the rest of us.

Don't Bother Me replies to t quinterling
Well. If we are on the NO Call List it is because we DON'T WANT TO BE BOTHERED. I am not going to give any info about anything to anybody.. In this day and age of ID Theft this is the only way I know how to protect myself.. Look up your #s and if they are on the DNC list then DON"T call. Maybe then you will talk to somebody who is nice..

I got a call from this number, to my land line. It was not at a convenient time though "business hours" because such unwanted calls never are convenient. I knew right off that it was exempt from the regular 'do not call' list" intended/targeted .

The woman calling confirmed that and explained it was market research. These are paid research projects to gain info as to how a product or service will better be sold or whatever.
Usually. Usually a legitimate job no more evil than almost any other job where ultimately the many are marked as consumers or manipulated to partake of an economic system rooted in materialism and where few who merely own or "invest" benefit at the expense of many.

this was not a telemarketer, not a bill collector, just market research survey taker. Yes it serves their nameless clients and does not pay respondents,so of course I have no interest in participating..I told her this. The whole thing was civil. Unlike bill collectors and "charity" ticket sellers.

she also informed me they have their own list. I asked her to add me to it and she said she would.

I sensed and have no reason to disbelieve her and have had no subsequent calls.

I did mention (and it's true) that my line is security monitored being associated with agencies that can, upon request, make things most unpleasant for any business interrupting it's intended function, and said I hope that would not have to be called into play.

It is easy enough to block the number.

of course any such call can be a phishing call, but doesn't mean this one was. it can even be a way to garner info for far worse than phishing, but if you feel you are up for that, only make outbound calls, as the real bad guys can do things with phones and computers you would not think possible. such as turning on fully shut-off mobile phones and calling or texting in the i.d of someone in your approved phone book, can do it from another country, and even add a custom ring tone to get your attention if they want to be over-the-top about it.

thanks for posting the links for the time they may be needed

it likely can't hurt although corruption or just foul-up from any type of govt agency is a given at some times ... regardless of who is in charge

I also kept getting calls from 734-542-7758 without leaving any message so I called back and all I got is a voicemail stating it's Marketing Strategy and to visit their website marketresearchstrategy.com which is another nonsense!  I dialed the number mentioned here 1 (888) 227-9977 and able to talk to a person.  I told them to please remove my phone from their database - he was nice about it, but will take 48 hours to take effect.

Note:  I also registered to DNC for quite some time now.  They just said phone numbers they call is is computer generated.

Next time they call, I'll say, "Wait a minute," lay the phone down by the TV I'm watching until I hear a disconnect signal after about five minutes, then I'll hang it up.  I have been retired and not looking for a job and my number is unlisted!

Hey T quinterling: and on top of all that you are such a pleasant person aren't you? It is all about you isn't it? The fact that most of us do not want to be bothered by a phone call from someone we do not even know is of no concern to you is it? Just as long as you can have what you want.
