    Visit FCC.gov and submit a complaint on these and every other parasite who call you.  They don't need to waste my airtime and spend my money on their B.S. surveys.

    This company seems to have a need to change their name every 3 or 4 months.  Can anyone guess why that is???

    I think Dante said these people end up on level 5.

    there is a solution to your frustration, but please allow me to explain the process of a phone call that you recieve from a business and how you can avoid being called over and over... (this is good advice for a survey company, as well as a sales call)

    first i will let you know - SURVEY COMPANIES ARE NOT PART OF THE DO NOT CALL LIST.  people conducting surveys are not after you for money, they want your thoughts, ideas, feelings, past experiences regarding a company or product that you probably have some familiarity with. the DNC list is for sales people trying to take your money!!

    how to avoid follow up calls;

    1) first of all, be nice!  the people that call you are simply that - PEOPLE!  people that need to work.  working at a survey company is low stress, there is no sales quota to meet, you speak to interesting people sometimes with lots of opinions and thoughts, the work atmosphere is generally positive.  These people that call you are hoping that you will be nice enough to take/arrange a little of your time to chat with them and fill out a survey... or at least to get a polite refusal.

    2)Say no thank you - dont slam the phone down... thats the exact opposite of what to do!!!  when you slam the phone down youre going to get called back because you didnt give the person a chance to say why they were even calling.  even when a sales person calls, all they need is a "no thanks" from you, an oportunity to rebutt your refusal, and then to hear you say "yup, I'm sure, no thanks" and then its over.

    3)Obviously mistakes can happen, 2 people's personalities don't mix, or another alternative is that the person who calls you just isn't a very upstanding employee (all work places have them, and really... if theyre being rude to you they probably wont last long and will be replaced with someone better...) and even though you tell them you dont want a call back you end up getting called again.  this case can be very frustrating.. if this happens to you and you get called back more than once, POLITELY ASK FOR A SUPERVISOR BECAUSE A MISTAKE HAS BEEN MADE AND THEY CAN FIX IT!!

    so I hope this helps SOMEONE... everybody hates phone calls that dont come from someone they know or trust, but theres no reason to freak out.  chances are, if you treat the person youre talking to with respect, listen to what they want to say and then either do thier damn survey or politely refuse, you wont even feel the need to get upset or angry.

    There is a $17,000 fine for abusive telephone calling from the FCC.  It is called psishing, and it is a legitimate claim. Start suing them through your courts if they continue to harass you.

    I got a call last night on 9/15/2011 from MSI Market Research wanting me to do a utility survey for PGE. They were calling from Lavonia Michigan per my caller id. I am a ex former employee that gave MSI almost 2 years of my good time working for them when they closed the Portland office and decided to move the center out of Portland. They told us they did it because CALL CENTER work was dead. After the layoff happened I did some internet research and found out that were they moved to Michigan the minimum wage was $6.25 an hour and that is why they closed the office here after being in Portland since 1986. Our minimum wage is too high and that is why call centers are not staying in Portland at all. I am very angry and am mad they called me to do this stupid survey for PGE who has done nothing but raise bills time and time again. MSI gave us three months notice they were going to close according to the labor laws here under WARN.  MSI gave all 199 of us no severence or no help in finding other survey or call center jobs. They told us we would get job placement and help through the Workforce Employment Department and we did not. All I am over there at Willow Creek employment office in hillsboro oregon is a big fat number in a huge system that has 2500-5000 people a month going through there. We are on our own finding work. Some have had to move out of Portland because they could not get another job. I myself have been on 26 interviews and applied for over 400 jobs to no avail and cannot get another job working in a call center even though I have 17-18 years of solid job experience and a 4 year degree in Accounting and Business Administration (BS degree) This layoff has caused a big black mark on my record and has ruined my chances of finding work anywhere in Portland. We all talk to each other on the Facebook to see if others have found another job and some have and some have not. Most have not of ex MSI workers. I have not and have gone to every seminar and class at the Worksource Employment Department so far. I cannot pay my bills at all and collectors call all the time. You tell them what happened and call the phone and utility companies and they think you have done this to yourself. They think you woke up and told MSI to close their office and lay you off like they did to me in August of 2009 and ruin my life royally. One company I called to try and get an interview were jerks and said they did not have the time to interview or hire anyone and that they considered people looking for work not at all a priority and they would ignore me if I came in and applied for a job there. They said security companies take too many calls and keeping the business was a priority and hiring people meant nothing to them. Things like this is why Oregon is in the crapper permanantly for job growth and employment. Employment will never get better until NAAFTA gets repealed and attitudes change here. I use a walker due to being in a bad accident in August of 2006  that was not my falt at all and did not cause my own disability and employers seem to think I did cause it by the way they treat me on interviews. They never call you back or practice any manners in the hiring and employment process at all. MSI I hate you and cannot believe you tried to call me to do a survey knowing that I was an ex-co worker from your company. Did you know so far 6 of MSI ex employees that I know about have moved out of Portland and lost their places to live because they could not find work. I am sure there are more I do not even know about. People need to know that this is what they do to their former employees and do not help them find other work and the layoff is nothing but a big black mark on their record and most like me will never work again.

    More Time Out Of The Day
    Market Research People ... What gives you the right to call and expect others to interrupt their legitimate work to entertain your survey AT YOUR CONVENIENCE?  Don't you realize that you are taking time away from their businesses and possibly their customers?  I asked for a name and number so the call could be returned at MY convenience and was told that they do not give out information about their company!  Then what gives you the right to call and ask for information about MY company???  They said they could not leave a number, but they would call back --- AND AGAIN INTERRUPT MY WORK AT THEIR CONVENIENCE.

    Stop with the nonsense calls!  Legitimate business people do not have time for it!

    And for the person on here crying about not getting Social Security, you obviously don't have a legitimate case.

    I get 2-3 of these calls per week regularly. I also suspected that my number was fished off of my resume from CareerBuilder.

    This is a pretty serious issue because I thought only registered *Employers* were able to go through our resumes.  Anyone else who gets calls from these people, ask yourself if you signed up or updated your CareerBuilder recently, if so, then send a customer complaint email to CareerBuilder asap so they can squelch this issue. The more people who complain, the more they'll see just how often it occurs.

    My fiance updated CB his at the same time and we both are getting calls from this number now.  The first time, a woman actually left a message something like "Hi this is so-so from Market Strategies calling about a position we have open. Please call us back at ******" I deleted it a while back so I don't remember exactly.

    They are basically one of those "national work-from home" jobs... with an aggressive recruiting agenda. If you go to their website, they do have a "stop call" form. I just filled one out... not sure if it's legit. I guess I'll come back and let you know if they stop calling.
