I received a call on today stating that a restraining order was pending!!! I thought this was odd being that i am from MS!!!!! Why would someone be calling me from Virginia about a restraining order!!

Whatever you do please do not call back!! These different companies are selling our information!!!

Just had the same message on my voice mail.......recorded message giving me a complaint number, yada yada yada.....said to call my attorney.   What a bunch of crap!   You mean people actually return these calls?   I can smell a scam on this one.....DO NO CALL 757-301-4745 back!

I had the same call yesterday afternoon, first off if you were being sued no one would call, they would just show up.  I did call the number and no one answered.
Unfortunately I have had some payday loans in the past and I lost my hard drive last year and now I have nothing to reference.  I am glad you all posted this information and me and my daughter which they called first can relax.
I think I am also going to record my conversation with them and see if they can do anything about it just to mess with them.  Put it on youtube like others.

I just had the same call left on my answering machine today.  Couldn't understand most of it except "claim against " and the "claimant affidavit number "and the contact phone number.  757-301-4745.  I called the number back and got a recording saying it was Global Legal Group and pushed 1 and then I was left on hold.  After about 10 minutes a recording came on asking me to leave a message.  I left one stating that  I couldn't understand what the person that left the message on my machine was saying but I thought they had the wrong person .  Then I searched the company with GOOGLE and found this blog.  It was definitely the same scam.   Why can people get away with this for so long?   :-(

Got a phone call with wrong name. Who are these people. A restraining order was supposed to be filed against me and I was given 48 hours to call them. I was directed in a voice mail to forward this to my attorney as I was supposed to appear in court. A LEGAL summons has to be delivered in person or via certified mail in my state of residence. East coast number and I live in the midwest.

this comp.call and said i was being investagated and that my wife co-signed for me,what a joke.my wife is disabled and has no credit.thay need to for a real comp.with a real job.

I got the same exact call.  Female woman voice with a moderate african american dialect/accent.

"Yes I have you down as a contact number for (brother-in-law first and last name) and this is a message for him.  (brother in-law first name) this is investigator Sara Reed.  I am contacting you sir, because of a complaint that's been filed against you.  Affidavit number B39A-2815 where you have been named a respondent in a court action and must appear. There is a contact number on file (?) which you must call.  757 301 4745. Please forward this information to your attorney as it(?) conatins a restraint order.  You or your attorney will have 24 to 48 hours to oppose(?) this matter.  The case number once again B39A da (pause) dash 2815 B39A dash 2815.  Thank you and good luck sir." (number key tone).

Keep getting similar calls, I dialed a random ext. asked for the address, they actually gave it to me. 150 W. Main st., Suite 101 Norfolk, VA 23507.

I just called back to confirm the address.  "David" answered (as he seems to do every time I use option #1) and emoted a high level of distress when I asked him to confirm their address (150 W. Main St., Suite 101, Norfolk, Va 23507).  He wanted to know who gove me this address and when.  They obviously monitor this web site, as he asked me if I was the one who posted the address only 5 minutes earlier.  He then threatened me with legal action if I called the company again.  I guess it is OK for them to call us, but not for us to call them?!? I pulled a picture of their building off google maps but it will not let me paste in this format.  I will have to find antoher place to post it.

These people are debt collectors and they are trying to get you to respond to their calls by scaring you into thinking there is a restraining order going to be filed. It seems, if you are trying to resolve other matters, say traffic tickets, and you give a government entity an inquiry, they now have your contact info on caller id and other collection agencies buy these lists ( and sell them to attorneys) because the persons name came up on the "attorneys Radar" from a past debt.

I just received a phone call stating that there was a legal suit against me. I told them that first of all it is 6:30 in the morning. 2nd they would not tell me who it was alleged that I suppose to owe and I hung up. The woman called back again 7 times.
Now this is all against the law that would be federal law.
You cannot call before 8 am and after 8pm
You cannot state any legal number over the phone.
You cannot recall and recall once you make contact you are not allowed to call again for at least 24 hours
You cannot call back after one states do not call me again
You cannot collect on anything past first statute of Limitations in your state, and anything that is not by contract after 7 years. It cannot be filed under your credit report in fact it has to be wiped clean. And that also not stating those famous words... This was an attempt to collect a debt any information is used for that purpose.
I told the lady on the phone she was breaking the law. She told me I did not know what I was talking about I told her I did because I was and am certified to be a bill collector. I hung up the phone and she called my cell phone.
Please tell me now how to stop it.

I had a message in my phone today.. that scared the heck out of me .. first of a I had to listen to it like 5 times because she spoke so low and fast... she said I had a complaint against me and that there is a judgement for me to appear in court oh and I had a restraining order .. also said I need to contact a lawyer right away and call them back or have my lawyer contact them within 24- 48 hours...

I wanted to add that I wish somehow we could get these people ... How dare they turn somebody's life upside down ... thank you everyone for posting your story... I was scared out of my wits as I am teacher and all kinds of things went through my mind.. restraining order for a teacher just looks so bad! thanks again to everyone.

Mother in law (out of state) & house phone got a call identifying Global Legal Group as the caller, talking about a restraining order against my son. Research shows a scam.

spoke to a "Patty" at Global Legal Group stating I owed $900 to Bally's fitness.  They were using a name I used over 10 yrs ago and an address I had not lived at since 1997.  Before I called and blasted my ex-husband, I looked on here on a hunch that it was a scam. Glad I did, and lucky for him!  When I told this Patty, I had no intention of coming back to the East Coast to deal with them or stand before a judge to explain my side, as I live on the west coast now, she hung up on me. Nice.

someone name sara reed called and ask me to call this number 7573014745 and give claim number s8901561,and i called this number and gave the claim number and some man said the i owed some payday loan place from 2010 and he would be serving me with legal papers and i told him I didn't know this place and owed them nothing,I ask for his address so i could send them a letter to stop calling me,and he hang up the phone

Someone named "Sherri Parker" called and left a message twice on my elderly parent's phone about some legal proceeding.  It was clearly bogus because legal proceedings do not proceed in that fashion (I should know--I'm a lawyer), and also because my parent has never had a problem in his life and leads a very quiet life at home.  Someone above has said the address of this company is 50 W. Main St., Suite 101, Norfolk, Va 23507.  Someone should visit this place and get a restraining order against them, or put them on 60 minutes!  Follow them around with cameras!

Received a call (restricted number) from a Michelle Drake at 757-301-4745 asking for my son who doesn't live with us, asked that he call her concerning an Affidavit#, a complaint filed against him that they are trying to keep out of court. He calls, gets push button choices, rings and then it just hung up. Global Legal Group. This morning I go out searching on Global Legal Group and find these many complaints. My son called it - a scam. He thinks it may be related to a 2 question survey he completed online - thought it was related to Netflix.

I just got a call today saying the same stuff, should I be concerned?
