This number shows up as Sallie Mae on my caller id.  They call at all strange hours.  No one ever answers when I pick up.  They are silent then hang up.  They woke my kids up on a Saturday morning.  My student loans are all current.  I have no idea why they are calling.

Got a call from (765) 283-3176, silent on the other end. So far today I have gotten 4 missed calls from this number. 5 total calls since I answered the first call. How do we file a complaint?

I keep getting calls from this number. They say that they are calling from Sallie May and that I have a private loan with them. I don't have a private loan with Sallie May. I have student loans and none of them are a private loan. I asked for the promissory note and the one they sent me doesn't make any sense. They signed it 11 months before I started school, and 9 months before I did. How is that possible? When I ask to speak to the supervisor he had an attitude with me.

They call 8 times a day also from another number............I once answered and told them money had been sent but they said not enough.............they call mon thru sun........at 8 am and 9 p.m. they harrase me with calles night and day and I am sick of this...............

Just got a call from 765-283-3176 - I said hello and no one responded, there was dead air and then the call hung up on me, in all of about 5 seconds. I called the number back and it said Hello, this is Sallie Mae, this call maybe recorded... HA - I hung up on them.

I don't know any Sallie Mae and I don't have any loans or debts. Yet this number calls me every night.  I'm glad I have caller ID because I just don't answer it.

if they called you before 8 am...i'd send them a certified letter telling them they are in violation of the FDCPA laws (Fair Debt Collection Practice Act). They can be held accounteable for something like $1,000.00. They keep hounding me but I dont know the person they are looking for. I told them this and I am very close to contacting a lawyer. Yes.  It is Sallie Mae.  They use this number and they also show up as 000-000-0000 periodically.  I just don't answer the phone if it is a number I don't know.  I figure if it is someone who really wants to talk to me they will leave a message!  Sallie Mae is what Dave Ramsey likes to call "Stupid Tax".  I made the "stupid" mistake of getting a school loan through SM and now I am paying the "stupid tax" of having them harass me every day.  LOVE caller ID!!!

It has to be Sallie Mae!!!! I didn't pay they the full minimum amount last month, mind you I have payed them More then the minimum each month before. They sent me an email with a phone number to call, which I called and guess what it hung up on me, twice!!! They also sent me a bill saying I need to pay IMMEDIATELY. Somehow they need to weed out the people that DON'T pay at ALL from the people that do pay but sometimes have ONE bad month. Loans from SALLIE MAE & ACS are bullsh*t.

Thanks guys! They were calling through my Google Voice number (a few times over the past couple days), now they're blocked.

Here is what you do.  WHen they call you answer the phone and continuously tell them to go [***] themselves.  Those calls will stop pretty quick.

I been recieving calls from this number non stop...i dont ever respond...you guys n dolls say its fraud and not sallie mae.... it shouldnt be SM because I fully payed off my school loans... SO THIS MEANS SALLIE MAE SOLD OUR INFORMATION...THATS SOOO NOT COOL..[***].

I am getting 3 calls a day from this number and not identified with a name or company

Sallie Mae is a predatory student lending firm that is partially affiliated with the government.  Sometimes people who owe them money give them a BS phone number so they won't get harassed.  Unfortunately, the numbers turn out to be actual people that have nothing to do with the institution.

This number has called over 10 times in the past week.  They do not leave a message.  I do not know this number and want the caller identified.  I do not call back if there is not a Message or name.

This has been happening to me, too! Have they stopped calling you? I think i'll threaten them with a cease to desist letter as well if they don't stop.

recd calls several times, answered and no response except for once. ID'd themselves as Sallie Mae and mentioned unpaid student loans. i have none, paid years ago. I told them there was no one living here with unpaid student loans and told them to f-off. then i put the phone down. still receiving calls from the number and have not answered since.

Missed call on my cell phone and the "message" was a recording telling me to call ... but when you look up the number on Google it looks like it is Sallie Mae.  I do have a loan I am paying through them, it is automatically deducted every month. I have also told them several times and they still keep calling. I just don't answer it anymore.
