I do not answer unknown calls. They are calling every day and never leave a message. When you call the number back, you are left on eternal hold. My number is registered with the DONOTCALL registry. What can I do???
- Caller: No idea
- DontAnswerGot a call from this number earlier this evening. As many others have said, I DON'T ANSWER any number I don't recognize... when I checked my voicemail, there was a partitial sound of a robo-call and then it hung up. I agree with others -- do not have any contact with these kinds of collections folks -- give them no info, or the clock starts ticking again. Anybody up for writing to the State and Fed government reps to do something to keep people from buying these old debts and then harassing people? The Gov can "bailout" the banks who then turn stuff over to these people to harass us... who is bailing us out???
- Caller: none shown
- JessicaA person with Indian accent or Asian accent, she wanted to speak with someone about some money owed, she was asking about our credit card account, I told her to go to hell..!!
- Caller: First National Collection
- Belle from SpringfieldWe've been receiving two calls a week for two months- never answer the phone and they never leave a message. Their caller ID is Reno, Nevada. Today I called Comcast and put a block on the number. I got a divorce in Reno 47 years ago and thought perhaps my late first husband came back to haunt me. My son who is a lawyer referred me to this website. The world is full of pests. We have anunlisted number too!
- ReneThis most likely a collection agency, whether or not they are legitimate or not is up to the person whom they are trying to contact. Unless they have your home address and send you a bill to state what the collection is for
do not answer the phone. The other thing you can do is, check your credit report, if they are a legitimate collection agency they will have filed a credit burearu report and it must state who they are and phone number and the amount of the collection. You should be able to trace this same collection amount back to the another collection agency on your report and find out what they are collecting for. If you deduce who the ampunt is owed to, go to the originator and pay the bill there.- Caller: First national, Reno, NE
- valley galI've been receiving phone calls from this number for about two weeks. One call every other day. Calls coming in when I'm at work, so I've never answered any. (I don't have an answering machine or any voicemail.) The number shows up on my caller ID.
I have no idea of who it is and what they want.
If this is a debt collection company--as others have said--they're calling me for no reason. All my debts are paid--and always have been.- Caller: Unknown
- AlWhat is that iphone software that gives them a busy signal?
Thanks - monicathis number always calls me! i'm only 17 so i don't have any debts and i don't owe any money. i never answer. i blocked this number on my phone. but they leave a blank voicemail.
this is [***] annoying! - meThey've asked for multiple different names at various points. When I tell them they have a wrong number, I get a snotty request for my name..... how stupid do they think people are? I don't answer their calls anymore, and will not do so ever.
- DeeThis # keeps calling all times of day & night - WHO,WHAT, 7WHY do not leave a message. ON THE DO NOT CALL LIST - SO WHY DO THEY KEEP CALLING & who are they? Called at 8:15 PM tonight
- A-non-e-mouseI got a hang up call from them. I have no open accounts or credit cards. I found the best way to handle these agencies is to complain to their state attorney general's office, usually consumer affairs division. Most are clearly in violation of the FDCPA rules for collections.
- GaryHave received 3 calls from this number: 775-412-4499. It's First National Collection Bureau. I was not home when the first 2 calls came in. The third call is looking for someone other than me. Called and told them they had wrong number. Now they are calling under "spoofed" numbers. One is 843-492-4765 (caller ID says Myrtle Beach SC). The other is 775-384-2276 (caller ID says Thacker P & C). If you call the numbers back they are FNCB.
- Caller: First National Collection Bureau
- HousewifeGot a call during the day asking for someone I've never heard of (We just moved into a new house). Opt 1 is if you are the person, opt 2 is if you aren't. Pressed 2 and the call hung up. Will call back if they call again to get their address to mail a letter.
- AmatheaI just received a call from this number. Asked for something Kelly. Um...not me so I pressed 2 and got dead air. Decided what the heck and tried calling them back. Surprise! I actually got a person. I informed her that I have only had this number since the 10th of last month and if that this Kelly person doesnt' reside here. She claims she'll take us off the list. Let's see if that happens. I guess hubby forgot to register the new number with the DNC list.
- another victimThey are calling my home every 2 hours now. Neither of us have ever had an unpaid debt or even late payments. We have a sterling credit rating. We only got the number 2 months ago when we bought a new house but they won't let me tell them that. They'll say is this Michael and when I say no, this is, they hang up. I thought I could help by telling them that the guy has moved but apparently they want to harrass more than legitimately collect debts.
- another victimOne other note, the do not call list doesn't keep people who have "legitimate" business from calling. So if somewhere along the line your number belonged to someone who created a debt or someone gave your number for theirs, then collection agencies can call whether you are on DNC or not. However there are pretty specific laws about what they can and can't do. These guys apparently don't care if they break the law or not or they figure you can't prove it.
- MarthaJust received a call from 775-412-4499, location listed as Nevada. I didn't answer since I haven't given my cell number to anyone except my hubby.
- So very annoyedThis number will call during the week every other day multiple times through out that day. It's getting tiresome. They have never left a message. I've tried to call back but it's an automated recording to hold for next available rep, I just get stuck on hold. What the heck?
- lannyPhone: (775) 322-0444 Call that number and it is direct.

they are bottom feeders that call and hope to scare people into paying something long dead. Ask for a Debt validation from them, contact your state attorney and file a complaint. They contacted my cell phone (illegal by the way)and tried to scam money from an old credit card debt my daughter had back in 2001. Way past the Statutes of limitation.- Caller: national credit aka Palisades credit
