Debt collector of some sort, I told them not to call anymore or I would report them and hung up.

They called here at least twice today.  The call says Unavailable.   I picked up the phone once.  I said hello.  They started to say "we are calling for..." I hung up.  I check my credit report 3 times a year and nothing is on it that shouldn't be: all bills are paid, nothing from any collections, etc.  I watch my money very closely.
I had a similar number call last year and they gave up.  This one should too.  I'm going to check out the FTC website.
Before these calls started, I had a phone number from the 714 area code. Didn't answer that phone call either.

This is a Debt Collector that will not let up even though you have filed bankruptcy.

bad debts drop off your credit report after 7 years but IF you make a payment, at each payment they may start the 7 years over.... so heads up about that.

Caller is wanting someone other than us. I have pressed '2' until me finger hurts, but they keep calling. We are not the people on their recording, but they just won't stop calling!

Contact your Attny. General for your state. It will take a little time, but you could nip it in the bud!

I continue to be harrass from this telephone number (775) 412-4499 repeatedly. The painful fact is this that I know no one from this number nor do I have any outstanding debts. I trust they will stop calling my telephone number very soon.

They have been calling me since I moved into my house; the former owner's brother is apparently a deadbeat and doesn't pay his bills. This is now 6 years of harassment from these people! At first I told them they are looking for the brother of the original homeowner--but after one of the collectors verbally abused and harassed me several years ago, I stopped picking up the phone. This is really criminal, harassing people who have no idea or connection to the debtors. Perhaps they should start changing their collection practices for the 21st century.

keep receiving a call from 775 412 4499 almost every day.  I have not answered it.  How do you put a stop to these pestering calls?  Is there an agency that will do something.  My next choice is to try and track down the location of the number and have a talk in person to the person(s) who keep harassing me.

Got a call from this number for someone who isn't me.  I got:

If you are not this person, press 2 now.  If you are this person, press 1 now.  

Then it hung up.  First of all, calling with a voice dialer is ILLEGAL at $1000 per dialer call.  Secondly, I want to speak with someone to let them know it's the wrong number.  If you press 2, they just try to call back later thinking it's the right number, wrong person.  What they are doing violates the fair debt collection act on three counts that I can think of off the top of my head.  That's $1000 per count.  So...  I guess it's time to call my lawyer who deals with this [***].

I have been working with him for sometime and he ALWAYS wins.  You're looking at getting at least $1000 for breach of fair debt collection law.  They say the MAX is $1000 but other factors go into it.

They are bothering me for the people who had this phone number before we got it. It was assigned to us ahead of time, but not installed until late June.  The phone company swears it was dormant for 3 months, I find that hard to believe. When I explain that we do not know the people who had the number before us, they still ask us where they are living now. I do not know how to get them to stop. I already am on the do not call list.

If you have a landline telephone, buy a Digitone Call blocker and your problems with unwanted calls will be over.

I bought one of these a year ago and I've been "call free" ever since.

But if you are getting calls on your cell phone or work phone, then it's a different story.

I receive several calls a day from this number. When I answer I hear dead silence. Obviously an automated dialer, but nobody ever comes on the line. Several calls a day constitutes harrassment, especially when I answer each call. No idea why this number continues to call me, but reported it to BBB, and filed a claim for unfair debt collection practices.

775-412-4499 started calling about two weeks ago. There are a couple of others. I just do not answer them. Just because the phone rings, you do not have to answer. I was told by my attorney not to answer the calls from collection agencies. We don't have to. If you have debt you can handle it with the original debtor. If you are written off, then you obviously cannot pay. Credit card is unsecured debt anyway. That doesn't mean run up credit cards then skate.

I don't answer calls from numbers I do not know. They di not leave a message. I read above that it is Finger Hut? I have never ordered anything from them nor ever had an account with them, and they are calling my cell phone.

This number started calling me several days ago and calls RELENTLESSLY. They call back to back to back and it is driving me nuts. Voicemails are always blank. Also getting calls from "unavailable" so I'm assuming it is them as well as previous posts stated it came up that way on their caller id. They start calling at 8:02am!!!!! and yesterday called me at 9:17pm!!!! Adding to block list on my cell.

Keeps calling my unlisted number and leaves no message.  Shows up as "unavailable".  Sometimes calls multiple times a day.  All these collection agencies that call my number for this person that used to have my number years and years ago can kiss my a**.  These agencies don't even bother to check with the phone company if the person they're trying to reach is still at the phone number on their list.  All of these agencies need to be closed down.  Let the original creditors deal directly with those that owe them money instead of cheaply selling off these debts to third parties for pennies on the dollar that harrass people for the full amount.
