These idiots are driving me insane! They literally call a minimum of 4 times a day, sometimes every hr on the hr. If you answer they don't have anyone available and will put you on hold for the next available agent. After 15 minutes I gave up and won't answer their calls.

Calling several times daily including Saturdays (Brockville, Ont Canada). Dead air.

No one was home so they called and hung up 5 seconds after the voicemail beeped.

1-800-266-3939 belongs to Direct Energy.
I have been harrased by then for weeks now!!! No one on the line when they call. I recognize the number now and let it go to voice mail, and get dead air messages left.

Call thier head office number at 416 221 4441 and ask to talk to the PRIVACY OFFICER.

This is from Direct Energy. They have called me about 5 times this week. We keep telling them we are not interested. Today when i picked up, it was silent, then i kept saying hello..then he said hello, finally, starts talking, says he's with direct energy. I was ticked off, and asked how many times i had to say no for them to stop calling. The guy said arrogantly "15 to 20 times" I told them that i was not interested yesterday and the day before and that i am still not and to not call me again. He told me that "he" would not call me again, but someone else would because maybe i'd change my mind. I emailed direct energy and complained and told them that i was filing a complaint with the better business bureau against direct energy. They responded to my email within half hour, and took my number and address and insured me that within 48 hours my name and number would be off all of their lists...we shall see! A friend suggested that, said they go away very quickly with this threat. I do intend to file however.

They call here several times a week, no message. I have called DE and asked to be put on their no-call list, but they said it may take a month or more.

If it doesn't stop this week, I'm filing complaints.

I work at the call center that this number originates from. You only get calls from us if you are an existing customer with heating protection, maintenence, or a rental water heater. We sell additional services you may not even be aware we offer. IE, if you rent a water heater we may offer to also look after your furnace with a monthly plan that includes repair coverage and once a year maintenence. The computer dials the numbers and recognizes when you say hello then instantly transfers to an agent. If you pick up and do not say anything, or you say something other than hello, you might get dead air. If you do not want calls, pick up on the first few rings, say hello, ask the agent to place you on the Direct Energy DNC.

National DNCL does not apply to us because you have an existing business relationship with us in the past 18 months.

DE Sales.. I dont have a contract with Direct energy.  i own my water tank,  and do not have any "insurance" from this company.  i have nothing to do with this company and have NEVER had an account so that makes the first statement a load of crap.
Telling them you do not have an account, dont want what they are selling,  or not to call clearly doesnt work because the keep calling and calling....

This is the same BS all the telemarketers claim.. that you gave them your number or youre a customer.

I got this call on my direct line at work three or four times a day. So this claim that I'm a Direct Energy customer is nonsense.

When I got in touch with Direct Energy (a man named Jim) he was not very helpful or pleasant.

I would encourage everyone who gets a call from Direct Energy to return the call and make their life unpleasant as well.

these people call me 3-4 times daily.  At first I answered and got no response and the line was held open while I was on it. They never leave a message on my voicemail. How do I get them to stop?

I got a call yesterday and today from the following number 705-800-266-33939.
I guess belong to Direct Energy, but not too sure.
I didn't pick up the line and there was nos message recorded in my voice mail.

It is Direct Energy. I hate the company, they lie to my wife and asked her to sign a contract. This time they are calling again. I only picked up once, now they call me twice a day. Calling several times daily including Saturdays.

ohh it's scam energy. Wonders what a little google search can pull up :P

Call DE and tell them you need to update your contact information and give them the phone number for your regional CRTC office - the CRTC is responsible for the Do Not Call List, so I'm sure they're on the list - if not, they soon will be.  In any event, at least they'll stop calling you - check out your local CRTC office info at the following URL:
