They called my work number today!!! Can the government do something to enforce the DNC list? Maybe a big fine, $1m?

1-800-266-3939 nuisance calls.  They phone and then hang up.

When i first started receiving calls, i didn't answer because 800 codes are usually ads. But then they started calling 3 to 4 times a day. Very annoying. My home phone ringing when i was doing work was such a nuisance, i had to block them. Its worth spending the money if you need to.

that number rings at my place several times a week. I usually ignore such calls. However, today,  i answered  but . the caller .was silent and  held the line open for a few seconds before hanging up.If someone could explain to me the purpose of such calls, I'd appreciate it.

Called me today and several times through out the day with no message left. I refuse to pick up

Endercare, they have been calling me every day for the past 6 months.. I dont have a service with them, they go to voice  mail and hang up 5 second after the beep. They never actually leave a message

This caller calls daily asking to install air conditioner and/or heating device.  These calls started immediately after I called a well established plumbing and heating service to repair my boiler after I lost heat in my building.

They call at least twice a day and no one is on the line, just dead air. This number it is Direct Energy but it is a waste of time calling them since they do not offer any services in Toronto, so why the calling??????

We apologize for the inconvenience.  Assuming based on your area code being in Ontario, you searched for the number online that was calling you and it said it was direct energy.  That phone number no longer belongs to Direct Energy.  It is now owned by Enercare (https://www.enercare.ca/).  You would need to contact them directly, either at the number they are calling you from, or the number on their website to log your request.  You have been added to the Direct Energy Do Not Call List however we are not currently doing any business in Ontario.  Should we ever market in Ontario in the future, your number would not be called based on your request today.

These people call my home 4 to 5 times a day, driving me crazy

800-266-3939 started to call me weekly to ask for maintenance, and suddenly started to call daily with silent calls. When I block them on my phone, it's going to my voicemail and I get now daily blank voicemails.

 Silence.. never a message  Calls up to 4 times a day

As multiple users have confirmed, this is Direct Energy (or Enercare, depending on your area code). In my instance, I previously had a hot water tank rental with them, which I bought out 9 months ago, and they're probably trying to get me back as a client, which is perfectly legal. I just called back and asked to be removed from their calling list. No issues doing so, hoping this will take effect soon. Only had to provide my phone number, declined to provide name and address but they didn't have any issues with that. If you're a current or recent client of theirs, just call back and ask to be on their own DNCL.
