- HoosyerDaddyWife got a call tonight from "Alan" obviously a fake name since he was speaking in barely understandable english. Says he works for Anthem BC/BS, but has the wrong company that my wife works for as his information. When my wife asked where he got the info, he got defensive and kept repeating the wrong info to her. Funny thing is, she canceled her Anthem insurance over 2 months ago, so you would think she wouldn't be on a "true" call list for Anthem. I think its a company that gets names, numbers from insurance companies, and tries to sell additional services.
Just a little FYI, ANY number can be spoofed and made to show up on caller ID, so please don't use Caller ID as proof of who is calling you.- Caller: unknown
- LindaThis number keeps calling but no one is on the line. If you hang up on them, they call right back.
- Robert| 1 replyHaving received a number of calls and voice mails from this number, after looking at all this BS on this web site, I called them back. I explained to them that I work the night shift (which is true), and that I don't need to be called at all hours of the day. They proceeded to ask me for my name and DOB, I told them that I will not be giving them that info. I said, "You have caller ID, you will see that it is this number, ###-###-####. I told them that if they don't remove me from their call listing, I will be calling my employer's benefit office (I work for a Fortune 500 company), and switch my insurance back to Cigna immediately, if I get one more call. She said, "OK. Have a great day." I will post an update if I get another call.

- Denise| 1 replyReport these people to your state attorney general's office. I have. They can't say they are "from Anthem/BCBS" if they are not. That's fraud. This definitely is a scam, even if it is for a service that Anthem allegedly covers.
Also, if they indeed are from Anthem, why did the person who answered my return call say he couldn't identify me from my Group/ID agreement. That's what every Anthem representative (and automated voice mail) asks for first. He insisted that I provide sensitive personal information that could be used in identity theft. Furthermore, HYPPA prevents Anthem from providing your personal health information to third parties. So if Anthem is facilitating these people, it is liable for legal action. Maybe we should launch a class-action suit.- Caller: Anthem BCBS, allegedly
- Denise replies to DeniseWhoops! I meant HIPAA -- the health information privacy rule
- AnnieThese same people have called me too. They called my parents phone# and Anthem Blue Cross does not have that number in their records. This lady "Carla" seems to think I have been diagnosed with COPD. I have asthma, but no COPD. They call my cell phone too at late hours of the evening. I have no time for this. I called Anthem Blue Cross today and they don't know about this. They told me that they wouldn't be having nurses call me and it was odd. They also told me not to give "Carla" or anyone else with this outfit my personal information. Well, the next time I get a phone call from this number, I am going to give them a piece of my mind.

- AJThis BCBS Outreach is a "Benefit" of being with Anthem. I have found typically the "help and assistance" is offered when triggered by the initiation of a high priced test, procdure, or major surgery. While this is promoted as something beneficial, in actuality the motive is to potentially keep their (Anthem's) cost or payout down. Insurance does not want to pay for what it doesn't have to or think you don't need.
Ignore these bone-heads at all costs.- Caller: BCBS Anthem
- bob| 1 replyThe caller from this number swears, even after repeated questions and expressed doubts, that they are indeed your insurance company. The medical plan they called us about is not part of an employer benefit package, it is an Anthem plan secondary to Medicare. The caller aks for a date of birth and a complete background on all chronic illnesses. They lack information and fish for the mecial information to circumvent HIPAA laws. Also, the number is blocked on the caller ID and is only attainable via *69. Unlike any actual insurance company representative, but much like telemarketers, they will not take no for an answer and call on weekends. I wonder if they falsely enroll people in the program against the customer's consent, as they transfer you to another party just like the telecommunications sales people do.
- Caller: caller gave false info
- bob replies to bobAdditonally, they claim to offer a service, but it is not anything that your doctor does not already do. The customer gets referred to an Anthem phone number which is specifically stated by Anthem as a "utillization review" program. This means that the insurance company monitors your meidcal situation and in the event of any serious or extended meidcal treatment, the insurance gets in the middle and arranges your health care according to their interest in cost containment and minimizing the cost to them for Medical services.
- Lulu21The people who call me from this number are from "ActiveHealth", a service provided by BC/BS. When a nurse called me, she actually had all my health info. BUT....then I got calls once a month from the Nurse, another from Mental Health, another from something else that I can't remember. One problem for me was that they would call when I was in the car or in the dentist's chair or....you get the idea. When I did speak with a nurse, she asked if I had any questions, so I asked her some and she couldn't answer a single one! What a waste of time. Then, this month, I discovered that my cell minutes had almost all been used and I realized that it was from talking to these, for the most part, un-helpful people. Now, I just don't answer when they call.

- LiveFreeNHA woman has been calling my number since last week. On one call my spouse answered and was told she had to talk with me. I finally answered the call this pm. After a long pause, she finally said she was calling for ..... .....ly. I told her no one by that last name lived here. She had incorrectly added an 'ly' to my last name rather than just ending it in 'y'. After another pause and a sigh, she asked if this was number ........... I said yes, but you have the wrong last name. She again repeated her mistake. I do not appreciate rude and dumb calls like this that waste my time. She had mumbled her name with a bad southern accent and claimed to be with BCBS. I told her my proper last name and she again made the same mistake. I told her to call from an unblocked phone or simply send something in the mail and get my name straight. She said nothing and I had to ask if she was still on the line. After a long pause, she said she would not respond to that! I responde w. an FU and ended this obnoxious call.

- heather replies to Mitcha message was left on my machine asking me to call back on 18667607567 ext 41141. The message was garbled but Idid hear something about my medicare coverage. When I called that number I was told thst I hsd reached hsn. Ithen checked the number on my caller i.d. which was1800.405.1806. This is after numerous calls from that number trying to get me toaccept a nurse to handle my medical problems which they said was approved by my medical insurer. These people seem determined toget information from me. They are starting to scare me. Is there any way I can ban the number. I am registered on the "do not call"register.
