I didn't answer but they gave me a number to call back and a reference number. This is related to an mri that my doctor ordered and he was letting me know it was approved and the date when I needed to do it by.  I have BCBS anthem health insurance.

Gotten several calls from this number recently, which I never answer. Today, I got a message on my answering machine consisting of  ring tones. It must've rung at least 30 times before the machine cut them off. Very annoying. I absolutely would not give any personal information to these people.

I work for BCBS and this number they are calling from does not match the number from the Health Coach Program listed at our call center......I believe this is phishing for PHI (personal health information) which identity thieves can use to screw you over.....I will be reporting this call tomorrow to my supervisor. DO NOT GIVE ANY INFORMATION TO THIS NUMBER WITHOUT CALLING YOUR MEMBER SERVICES NUMBER ON THE BACK OF YOUR CARD. (You can ask the "coach" to call you back, and a BCBS employee MUST comply with your request or chance having their call stats pulled and being immediately terminated).

Report any suspicious calls to your employer's HR/benefits office.

Scratch that. Just called supervisor and number has been verified. Rep did not properly HIPAA verify me. Call has been noted. Rep called from Mountain time zone. I live in Eastern time zone. Call was abnormally late. THIS IS A BCBS LEGITIMATE HEALTH COACH PROGRAM FOR VARIOUS PLANS ACROSS THE U.S. sorry for the mix-up.

I'm skeptical. Can you provide a link that verifies this number is legit?

Just got my 3rd or 4th call from a company that comes up on my ID as RN Coach Program. They claim they are from Anthem. Wanted to tell me about a program. Told them we didn't have Anthem. Wanted to know when we dropped insurance with them. I told him it was none of his business and to stop calling me. I had to be insistant with him as he didn't want to take no for an answer. I was wondering if Anthem didn't sell this RN Coach Program a list of all their insured. If it was legitimate our name would not be on a list from Anthem and Anthem would not call since we are not insured by them anymore and haven't been for quite some time. Sounds fishy to me. Told him several times not to call anymore. Also if it is about a Prenatal program or anything to do with kids they would know we are too old for stuff like that. Kids are all grown, out of the house, married and have kids of their own. Not going to fall for their scams.

I receive calls from this number too.  They left a message on my machine, saying something about calling them back to find out way they were calling.  I am NOT calling.  They need to stop calling.

Just got a call from this number and as I answered there was a message saying, "Please hold for your health coach." I stayed on for a little over 2 minutes (as I searched the web for the number) and finally just hung up. (Currently job searching, so have to take strange calls, but wouldn't otherwise!) I just registered on the Anthem website a couple days ago. I agree that if they are giving me an upgrade or something for this service, send me a letter. Don't call and ask personal information. Duh!

The Caller ID says "Unavailable" - what a coincidence!  I'm unavailable too.
The content of the robo-message is included for your dining and dancing pleasure verbatim (with my comments in brackets):
"This is not a sales call.  We want to talk to you about a program that is available to you as part of your health benefits offered through your health plan [you don't know my name, but you KNOW I have a health plan?].  Please return this call at your earliest convenience [I find it convenient not to call you - whaddya think about that?].  Our toll-free number is 877-236-7486.  When calling back, please enter extension 41141, and any available associate [in your boiler room?] will be happy to assist you.  We look forward to hearing from you [you don't know who I am - you assume too much].  To avoid future calls such as this, please contact us toll-free at 877-236-7486." [Hey, how about avoiding your calls by NOT CALLING MY NUMBER?]

I don't answer my phone when a name or number I don't know appears.  Words to the wise ...

    Question? replies to Mitch
I have my primary doctor and a group of specialists following me. Why the hell would I need a nurse "out of the blue" to talk on behalf of my insurance. Seems like a conflict of interest plus a great way to data mine for insightful medical information.

I received a voice mail from this number saying there are some programs that they want to inform me about and they were calling on behalf of my insurance company.  I called back the caller id number and got some woman who asked me for my phone number which I gave, then she told me my old address,  which was not current but I did not want to give my address info.  She connected me with some other department.    The other department's operator offered to take my updated address, but I did not want to give it.  She asked me questions then provided info on other programs including a nurse-type phone service that I was interested in using.  She could not transfer me to the line but was going to have some nurse call me.  She told me there was also a 24 hour nurse line on the back of my card, but I explained there was no such number.  She offered to provide me the number and claimed to look it up.  Conveniently, her system was so slow, and she could not give me the number. But she suggested I call my Member Services number.   The whole thing sounds like a scam.  Don't give them any information if they call you.
