- BC/BSThis is a legit call--at least for me. I have upcoming surgery scheduled and this is a call from my primary insurance company--ANTHEM BC/BS. I don't know what they want, but I have not rec'd a call until now and I just found out today that my high-priced surgery was approved. I am sure that this is what it is about.

- nomorecalls| 1 replyThis is the message that I got from Anthem BCBS. Actuall, they call when they think you might be going to the doctor more or may have to require expensive medical services. It is there way of trying to control costs. Condition Care, Complex Care. Health and Wellness Phone based wellness and support programs. I talked to a nice guy from the ext:41141. He said they never ask for social sec. #s, only year of birth. They may verify your tel number to make sure it is the best way to reach you. They can put you on their do not call list of member services. I was already on it, but my husband wasn't, BUT NOW HE IS! HA! You can use the service online after you login to your account, so I don't know why they have to keep calling their members. Ridiculous. I told him about all the posts and people's concerns with verifying sensitive info, his response... they have to follow hippa, GO FIGURE???

- CBToday was the first time I answered & it was complete silence. I put my phone on mute just to see how long they would stay on the line without saying anything, 30 seconds of dead air, for what? Smh
- Suzie Q replies to JakeI agree with you. We have Blue Cross Blue Shield Anthem and no matter what we call about, she says make an appt with the doctor or go to the ER. That's worthless. We already knew to do that. And BC/BS promotes this service to benefit them, so they can keep from paying for doctor and ER visits that can be taken care of otherwise. But as a CYA on their part, the nurse always either has the doctor call back, which is rare, or sends you to the doc or ER for simple matters. What a waste of time and money on BCBS part.
I received the call from this same number, and not knowing who it was, expected it to be identity theft, a computer voice, or someone trying to sell to me or have me donate money to a cause. But when I answered. no one responded, so I figured it was a computer and hung up. - HelaineI've been getting daily calls from them on my cell phone, and I never answer unless I know who's calling. Like others have said, no message is left. I just called them 5 minutes ago and told them what was happening, and all I had to give them was my cell phone number and my name. It actually is BCBS because they asked if I wanted my daughter taken off the call list also (they mentioned her by name). So I feel fairly confident that they WILL take me off the call list. It was surprisingly easy to take care of. I'll check back in here IF I get any additional calls.
- Unlisted momIn the last year something happened by accident maybe power outage where my answering machine was off. I did not realize for a while, but finally noticed when I called home I was getting fax machine when no one answered. Then I realized later that the number of incoming calls from this BCBS thing, telemarketers (yes I am on do not call registry), political surveys that were occurring at the time, and bogus solicitors had dwindled off, so I decided to leave it that way, that after 5 rings everyone gets the annoying fax machine in their ear. I have asked those who actually need me or want to leave messages to put my cell as primary number. I mistakenly answered the phone with an "unknown caller" ID on Christmas Eve thinking it was a return call, but it was a scam from a group soliciting. Now I am repeatedly getting calls from them and a couple of others that have similar complaints, so things have started up again but as long as there is a number I block them, but answering machine off and blasting them with fax noise seems to be effective maybe for the auto calling equipment to delete the number from the automated call list system they use and if the list is passed/sold from one org to another, maybe it would get us off the master lists. But there is absolutely nothing a dial-a-nurse can do for me except make my life more complicated, and I resent everything about that effort whatever Anthem is trying to accomplish with it, I really can't see where it is helping anyone, just another middle man getting a slice of the pie but bottom line it's cost added coming from what should be going to my healthcare.

- LeahSaid they needed to speak to me about my sons insurance and asked if I had time to talk. They said they are with Indiana Medicaid I told them to call back later. They said they will. I just got a letter in the mail saying everything is ok with their insurance so I don't believe I will be giving any information. I'm going to call the medicaid office and let them know that this number will not stop calling me.

- IdaA guy "Troy" called and asked DOB/ADDRESS/PARENTS NAME of my child and said to add a 24 hrs nursing service, we did notify it could be a fraud call, but still provided him those info, and when we called back, his coworker is not willing to transfer to him! we just can make a statement that we dont order any service and wont pay any charge, does this help? or what they will do after we provide these info, does anyone know? appreciate all your help!

- CA ObserverI didn't buy a PPO plan from Blue Cross to have them try to save a buck by giving me a rent a nurse to try and discourage me from going to the doctor. These people are trying to act as gatekeepers and I NEVER pick up. Today they marked their call urgent... I urgently ignored their message. They are bunch of time wasters. I will NEVER let these useless rent a nurses get between me and professional health care. If that's the kind of care I wanted, I'd have purchased a HMO plan.

LOOKING AT ONLINE INFO ABOUT THIS NUMBER, THIS NUMBER (BUSINESS) HAS BEEN HARASSING PEOPLE LIKE ME IN THE SAME WAY FOR YEARS. I AM SICK OF THEIR CALLS. I AM VERY ILL. IT IS A BIG THING ME GETTING UP, OR AWAKING ME TO ANSWER THE PHONE TO A COMPANY SOLICITING ME. I ASKED THEM TO NOT CALL ANYMORE OR MAIL ME INFO, BUT NOT TO EVER CALL AGAIN. THEY SAID THEY WOULD CALL ME BACK WHEN I AM FEELING BETTER. I SAID, NO DO NOT EVER CALL ME AGAIN.
