I CALLED ANTHEM BLUE CROSS BLUE SHIELD, AND THEY SAID THIS IS NOT HOW THEY PRACTICE BUSINESS, AND THEY DO NOT RECOGNIZE THE NUMBER AS PART OF THEIR BUSINESS.  IT IS BELIEVED THIS COMPANY IS CALLING TO PHISH ILLEGALLY FOR INFORMATION ABOUT YOU, PER BC/BS. DO NOT GIVE INFO TO SOMEONE ABOUT YOU JUST BECAUSE THEY SAY THEY ARE YOUR INSURANCE COMPANY. DON'T BE SO GULLIBLE. DON'T ANSWER QUESTIONS. DON'T "VERIFY" INFORMATION TO THEM, GIVING THEM YOUR FULL NAME, DOB, ADDRESS, SOCIAL SECURITY, MOTHER'S MAIDEN NAME, ETC. BC/BS TOLD ME TODAY TO BEWARE OF THIS CALLER.

I WASTED NO TIME AND REPORTED IT ON THE NATIONAL DO NOT CALL REGISTRY COMPLAINT PAGE. THEY CALL ONCE OR TWICE A DAY. THEY CALL EVERYDAY. LOOKING AT ONLINE INFO ABOUT THIS NUMBER, THIS NUMBER (BUSINESS) HAS BEEN HARASSING PEOPLE LIKE ME IN THE SAME WAY FOR YEARS. I AM SICK OF THEIR CALLS. I AM VERY ILL. IT IS A BIG THING ME GETTING UP, OR AWAKING ME TO ANSWER THE PHONE TO A COMPANY SOLICITING ME. I ASKED THEM TO NOT CALL ANYMORE OR MAIL ME INFO, BUT NOT TO EVER CALL AGAIN. it was anthem blue cross to schedule my MRI.

They just left a recorded message on my cell. It did say it was from Bc, but we do not have health insurance right now. I have an app on my phone called Callblocker. I can block any number I want. So if you have a smartphone, I recommend you get this app. They can still leave a message,  but the phone does not ring/vibrate when they call.

These people have called innumerable times...always say they need personal info to confirm it's me...  I guess they're not sure of just who they called.  They get NO information from me, not even my name.  After lots of avoiding their questions they try to interest me by telling me it's 'from my insurance company'...but they aren't sure of 'which company it is'...and, when I asked which particular medical group they represented, they told me they represented 'so many' that they just had to have 'more info'...NOT!  They then told me 'it depended upon where they were calling from' and 'where I was located'...these people are NUTZ...they don't know 'where they're at' and they're incapable of looking up the area code they called...  INCOMPETENT doesn't even come close to these twits...

I took my wife to the doctor this morning and these people called our house at 8:30 PM. same old sales pitch as others have described. They did not want to talk to me and I am the policy holder. My wife told the caller, "If you are from our insurance company, what is our policy number. The Anthem Rep did not know our policy number, so my wife hung up. We are blocking the number and filing a complaint with our insurance company.

Just called @ 6:55 EDT the message was about selling health insurance and health plans. Caller was Anthem Blue Cross-Blue Shield, But I don't have insurance from Anthem. Call their number back because in the message, they said call the number back so you don't receive any more calls from them.

The number is Anthem Blue Cross and can help members make the best choice when it comes to Imaging scans. If you received a call from this number it is very likely your doctor has scheduled you for an MRI or CT scan.

Caller ID showed: "Blue Cross Blue".  The message stated: "Please return this important call to 800-670-1467" and "If you do not want any more calls, please call 800-670-1467 to be removed from the list".  THIS IS AN OBVIOUS TELEMARKETING CALL.  Apparently it is from some "add on" company and not the real Blue Cross Blue Shield trying to sell additional insurance.  DO NOT CALL THEM BACK -- calls to toll free numbers can not block your caller id and you will just be giving them your name -- and NEVER PROVIDE ANY INFORMATION TO CALLERS.  If it's legitimate YOU call the company at a number YOU know is valid.

Wellpoint Anthem Blue Cross - Having worked in this same department for the last 3 years, These are calls to enroll members in no additional cost wellness programs. Dedicated to core conditions (Heart failure, CAD, COPD, Diabetes or a complex combination of conditions, prenatal/new mom progams, My Health Coach, or even the 24x7 nurse line)The hipaa law requires that we obtain a bare minimum of personal info prior to discussing ANY Private Health Information.
Outbound calls = Name + YEAR of birth ONLY or Inbound calls = Name + entire DOB and/or phone or address. We WILL NEVER ask for SS number or anything else.

May possibly even be calls regarding current approved digital scans. CT, MRI, etc.

These are anything BUT scam/telemarketing calls. NEVER any $$ involved. It's OK to be on guard, but use your head and heart. What if it IS legit and BCBS IS calling to help better your health or save you money out pf pocket?

The BEST number if in doubt, is ALWAYS on the back of your BCBS insurance card - Member services/customer service. Just give them our toll free number that was left for you to c/b and they will transfer you over to our department. You are in control of the call that way....

I received a call from 18004051806.  The message included my first and last name and said they were not a sales call and that it regarded my current health care plan.  The caller ID just had "toll free calle".   I returned the call to the number they had left for me to call which was 1-866-670-1467.   The person I spoke to asked for my name and phone number, which I did provide but then he asked me for my date of birth which I refused to give.  The person on the other end of the line then said it was due to HIPPA regulations and then  said to just give him my year of birth to confirm.  I refused to give any other information and hung up.   I was returning the call for them to give me information, not the other way around.

You were right not to give them more information.  If they called you, they should have already known your phone and name. They were obviously fishing (phishing) for something.

IT IS NOT LEGIT!  THEY ARE TELEMARKETERS -  YOU'RE NAME AND PHONE NUMBER WERE SOLD TO THEM BY WHOEVER YOU USED TO PURCHASE HEALTH INSURANCE.  IT IS DEFINITELY NOT A REGISTERED NURSE CALLING!!!  THESE PEOPLE ARE CROOKS AND THIEVES.  DO NOT GIVE THEM ANY PERSONAL INFORMATION!!! WHATEVER YOU SAY TO THEM CAN AND WILL BE USED AGAINST YOU!!!

Got a call from a woman claiming to represent BlueCross . She began to ask for detailed personal information which I declined to offer. I reported this call to the official site of BlueCross, but they don't seem to care/

A woman called my cell asking for someone named "Lorena". Told her she had the wrong number and I hung up.
