    Consumer Activism replies to CamsMommy829
Contact a consumer rights law firm like Krohn and Moss.  www.krohnandmoss.com  They will sue the collector, you pay no fees and the collector has to pay you $1000 in cash per federal law (FDCPA), and they will also pay the lawyers out the wazoo as well.

If you hate thug debt collection tactics, then save the voice mail and RUN not walk to a consumer protection lawyer.

the person called me looking for Mr. Flanigan finally called & said I owed a debt to Lerners clothing store which is now New York & Company from 1985. I said it wasn't mine I was still in high school then I ask for proof he TOLD me to STOP TALKING OVER HIM so I hung up & contacted my lawyer which said a collection agency can't call you if the debt is over 4yrs old let alone 28yrs old

No this creep is a douche!  "Dude use an inhaler!"  hahahahaha! That's awesome. Yes, he does sound like he has asthma or is immensely fat. I just ignore the calls. Too bad their calls can't just be blocked.

    CreditWorthy:) replies to anonymous
thank you, but your post is full of assumptions about me and my knowledge level.  I am fully aware that a person who purchases a debt for pennies on the dollar doesnt not increase fees from the original debt.  I also know that a debt they claim I did not pay from 10 years ago is not able to be reinstated on my credit report.  I also am fully aware that one should pay their bills and I have perfect credit to prove that I do just that.  Perhaps in your efforts to despinse advice, you should take time to find out information before you start blasting someone.  I did not give advice, I simply offered a name and addy of a company that has refused to furnish it upon request so that people are now able to send them a cease letter.  Apparently, that has offended you in someway, and it certainly was not my intention.

    YOU LIE replies to anonymous
Anonymous, you lie, I got another call from toll free call 800-443-2963 today, I have never had any delinquent debt, all my bills are paid every month on time and for the last 5 years I've been getting calls from debt collectors.

The is a fraud, you collectors call consumers trying to put them on the defense to keep your job calling them and hoping they will call you back, if you think I'm going to answer your calls and call you back hold your breath. For anyone to think you are serious, you have to send a letter validating the debt you are calling about.

This place called today ( mr finnegan ) and left similar pre-recorded message. I saw on another board that they were dropped and fined heavily by the BBB. Perhaps they are trying to pay off their fine.  If you do connect with a humanoid there talk nicely to them, tell them that they sound like a good person and would they be so kind as to take care of your (debt) on your behalf.  Remember there is a recession going on and you have more important things to do with your money.

I have no outstanding debt and get these calls.. I now simply turn my fax machine on and let them get that annoying fax sound in the ear .......I've tried to explain to them in the past that they are calling about people I have no knowledge about and they don't care...they continue to call....maybe that "lovely" fax screeching in their ear will finally stop them!! ;)

    Annoyed in VA
These guys are relentless... Not only do they call you, but they call your place of work to get information from your employers, saying that you gave them permission. They started out with calling me by my maiden name that I have not used in over 10 years, and that raised a red flag for me right away... I don't owe anyone money, and there is NO REASON that they should be calling me, especially at odd times of the night. I had a couple of calls that woke me up at midnight and 3am. AND I AM ON A DO NOT CALL LIST!!!

I have no clue why this drunk keeps calling my phone i owe no one anythhing and this is a private non published number. i have filed numerous complaints against this drunken fool who calls and it sounds like its recorded and only a partial message.
no company name shows up just the number and says 800 service.
they call 7 to 8 times a day and i am on the dnc list both federal and state.
i have filed several times against this corrupt caller yet i get no reply from anyone.
my next step is to change my number i have had for years which i have always kept private.
if i could get the address of this person i would pay a personal visit to them.
if anyone ever comes across this persons personal home phone number or cell phone number please let me know because i would love to call them over and over again like they do all of us.
i know many people who get new numbers and have this problem because the numbers are recycled and this should not be so.
so my next step is to use call forwarding and since i can forward select calls to another number i plan on forwarding all calls from this moron to the 888 number for the dnc i hope they get along talking to each other,. if anyone elese has a  suggestion please let me know and i know all of you are in the same boat as me and i wish you luck!

I am sooo tired of getting calls from this # - advising me they are a debt collection agency & to call immediately and ask for Mr. Finnegan!  I owe no uncollectible debt - and don't know this person's intent - except maybe to scam me?

He is not a drunk! He is a real person and that is his name. Just pick up your phone and talk to him if he calls, If he has the wrong number let him know so he can take it out of the system. It's that easy.
