Received three calls from this number today alond.  When my voice mail comes on they hang up.

This is a number that my mom has found is also for the St. Paul Pioneer Press.  They contact her from this number at least twice a day.  Between this number and their other one 651-967-0338 my Mom can get five calls a day from the Press trying to get her to subscribe.

We get these calls... from various 800 numbers, including the subject number.  My wife usually answers the phone, but I tried it on one of the 800 numbers... when I got a person and found out it was a solicitation (keeping in mind that this number had been calling here for a couple of weeks before I answered instead of my wife) I did the low-class thing and unleashed a string of invectives that would embarrass a sailor.  Ya know what?  We no longer get calls from that 800 number!
Soooo, I have to try this again on another one.  My wife hates the idea, but HEY, that's her job  :)
If it works on another 800, I'll post it here.  Distasteful as it is, if it works I'm gonna keep doing it.

The number is from National Union Fire Insurance Co. They received the number from an "affiliate" like Citimortgage, a loophole that lets them call you without violating the DoNotCall law.

You can do two things.

First, you can call Citimortgage if you are a client and ask them to remove your name from any marketing lists they share with others.

Second, you can call the CEO of National Union at his home. His company calls you at your home, so why would he mind if you call him? His name is John Q Doyle, and his number in Rye, NY is (914) 921-3436.

NO NAME ON ID

This number has called three times in the past week.  I've reported them to the National Do Not Call Registry.
They have said they represent my bank, a fire insurance company, and have asked if I would like to lower my credit card rates.  My caller ID indicates the name of the firm is always "unavailable" but the 800 phone number remains the same.

Call and never leave message...today I answered and it was a telemarketer for Direct Merchants Bank...wanting to send out some sort of insurance package??? I let her go thru her routine and when she asked me to confirm it was me by giving my birthdate I told her I was not interested and asked to be removed from the call list. She then gave me another number to call if I changed my mind. 800-572-5283

They keep calling, constantly. Friggin' annoying [***]

Wells Fargo bloody calls to f'ing peddle insurance OVER AND OVER AND OVER.
The last night's call, 2008/8/23, I told them to STOP.
So they call again.

I received a call from this numnber today, but did not answer because all it gave was a number.  I assumed it was a solicitor.  When I got around to calling this number back, I found it to be an insurance agency with a voice mail response asking if I wanted them to call me back.

I have insurance for everything one could need insurance for, and get tired of these calls.  Supposedly registering to be on the do not call list doesn't do any good.

This number keeps calling me every day for the past two weeks and they never leave a message

Like "Mildly Irritated" 12 Sep 07, I called 800-553-1077.
The recording says "You just got a call about a special offer. If you want a call back with more information press one. If you'd like to be placed on the "do not call" list for NATIONAL UNION FIRE INSURANCE COMPANY OF PITTSBURGH, PA press two." I pressed 2 and the recording then says, "Your request will be processed within two business days." Let's hope that's an end to the calls.

I just did the same thing that SPVoth just noted above.  I just typed in my number & they told me that the request will be taken care of in 2 business days.  I hate these guys...

KEEP GETTING CALLS FROM THIS NUMBER AND WHEN I ANSWER NOBODY IS THERE AFTER I GIVE TO RESPONSES.  VERY ANNOYING.
