I called Chase customer service and wanted to verify the 800-555-0433 number.
Chase informed me, that number is not one of their chase phone numbers. Proceed with caution!

Constantly calling - message does not even leave a full phone number - I got it from caller ID.  This is a recording - not a human on the other end

    real annoyed
They asked me for my SSN as soon as I called, they claim to be Chase...my account WAS over drawn. Now if it REALLY is Chase, they are total idiots for thinking I will return an unsolicited (and annoying) call and just give them my SSN. So, if it really is Chase I'm done with them.

We get the same thing here over and over and over day after day but we don't pick it up and they don't leave a message.  We have accounts with Chase but conduct our banking in person at the bank so if they say they are Chase then it is a scam because Chase doesn't operate that way.
    • Caller: Never answered so we have no clue LOL

I have a chase account, but it has not been overdrawn in months.  I don't owe chase any money because I don't have any other type of account with them.  When I have been overdrawn in the past and waiting for my direct deposit, I have never even recieved a call from them.  I have gotten fees for the overdraft, but no phone calls.  I think this is a scam and if there is a problem, then I can deal with my personal banker.

    this is a scam.

i do not have an overdrawn account of any kind. i do not have a chase account. i have a wamu account with $1.00 in it. i called back and got a guy with a thick accent who demanded my name (after giving him my ph#.) i asked what the call was regarding and he said "this is chase bank."

i just called the real Chase (800-935-9935) and asked about it. i told them i have an IL WaMu account and no Chase accounts or cards - they said that IL WaMu accounts haven't even been converted and there was no reason Chase would have called me. she also said that this was a fraudulent call and to ignore it the next time they call.

This is definitely not a legitimate number.  They started calling me yesterday, at 8 in the morning (on a Sunday?  What bank is open then???) and have since called about 10 times.  Starting at 8 today, they have called every hour and a half, exactly to the minute.  This suggests to me that it is automated.  Regardless, the first time I answered, they said to hold the line, and then there was no one there.  The second time they called, I didn't answer, and they left a voicemail with their business hours but no phone number.  Since then, they have not left a voicemail.  I am not a chase customer, but no legitimate business would conduct themselves like this.  I will let it go on for a couple more days, and then I will contact the police and see about getting my number changed.  Be wary of this number and be wary of anyone on the internet who tries to tell you this is really Chase calling.  These are not good people!  Do not give them any information about yourself!!!

They have called me at least 25 times. I finally called back and a recording said they didn't take calls from 503 area code. They call late on Sunday nights and 8am Sunday mornings.

Ok, so I've checked out this number pretty thoroughly. Here is my conclusion: All of those who blindly believe the caller or the jerks on here that say that it's really Chase bank are [***]. Here is my reasoning: 1. No bank calls you so many times a day as to where it's harassment, even if your account is over drawn. And most contact you through mail. 2. If a bank needs to talk to you, and you don't answer, they'd leave a short message for you instead of nothing. 3. It sounds like people who DON'T even bank there are getting calls; can we say WHITE FLAG? 4. If it is Chase Bank Collections or whatever people are saying, then why when they call the actual bank does no one know the number? They do have directories of all their phone numbers. Hell, even the part shop (which was just a branch of the entire company) where I worked had a list of EVERY NUMBER around the country possible that is affiliated with it. Can't tell me a bank doesn't. 5. Banks don't ask such personal information over the phone. 6. Why would they need to know your account number or SSN if they're the ones calling you about your account?! 7. Why when you try to look up the phone number on an online directory such as dexonline, does the number not come up? But when you look up Chase Banks on the same directory a ton of different numbers come up.

Thus, I've come to a conclusion that those who say it is really Chase are lying, and those who believe it are [***] and deserve to be scammed out of all their money.

For those who don't know what to do about the number calling all the time, do something about it other than not answering or hanging up the phone. Call be bank and report it. Call your phone provider and have the number blocked. Hell, even report the number to the proper authorities!

    CH@$E BANK NEEDS TO FAIL.

Send a polite letter certified stating that they must immediately stop calling you.  If they don't after a few days of having received your letter, sue.

Based on the information on this site, I answered this call and screamed at the idiot on the other end. I called him a scam artist, and that I was going to contact the Secretary of State for my state, etc. etc. He calmly (I must say, considering how much I had been letting him have it) gave me four digits of one of my wife's checking accounts, and told me that it was $40 overdrawn. I verified this by logging in using my wife's Chase login and sure enough, he was absolutely correct. (An automatic deposit had not gone through, and we had foolishly forgotten to confirm that it had.)

So yeah, it's a real Chase phone number, or at least the phone number of a company that works as an agent for Chase. Thanks for the embarrassment, y'all.
