Just got a call from this #. It said I could get a credit of $153 (I think, it was hard to understand) as a Verizon Wireless customer. It said I needed to go to some website (didn't write down because I'm not a Verizon customer) & sign up for my credit. Then it thanked me for being a Verizon customer.
Again, I'm not a Verizon customer so figured it is some kind of scam. So I wouldn't worry about it.

A recorded message said that I've won $183 from Verizon Wireless.  All I have to do is log into some website with vz118 or something like that. Sounds like a scam.

Just got a call from this number. Didn't answer the phone. They didn't leave a message. Came on Google to look the number up and found this site. Kinda spooky all these calls are being made today. According to others I should be receiving another call within the next 20mins. About to see if i can block the number instead

received a call at the annoying time of 10:52 pm.... next call should come in exactly one minute if these posts are any indication.... aaaand there it is! 11:12. answered and it's the same b.s. message everyone else is getting. also? i don't know why whatever scammers did this thought that smarmy voice was a good idea. i mean, they just sound sleazy!!!

I keep getting the same thing. I haven't answered it because my phone was in vibrate. My phone is a straight talk phone from WV. What do you guys use and the state you're from.

They just called me twice at at 9:55 and 10:15 pn...I was sleeping and they woke me up...soo not happy

My girlfriend and I both had this call. One right after the other and then again 20 minutes later. Saying I had a credit with my verizon account and to go to verizon183.com or some stupid crap. I have straight talk. Definitely a scam.

Wow.......busy phone today, 10/31/13......the # called my cell @ 09:12 AM and again @ 09:32...20 minutes apart.....didn't answer either.

I contacted Verizon and reported it.

Me: I'm getting a call from 800-600-1228 and they are claiming to be Verizon and that if I go to their web site and pay $153 I'll get a free credit.
Verizon: On no!
Me: I found a web site and it's happening to a lot of people. We are all receiving the calls exactly 20 min apart.

It says to log into www.vzw177.com to get $173 from Verizon. I've never had Verizon. This has to be a scam!!!

They called twice in 20 minutes. The message said that Verizon has $170 for me if I sign into this particular website. I checked with Verizon and that's a lie.

I received this call a few minutes ago, based on the messages here I know not to answer. It is a scam. I do not have Verizon or AT&T. I have seen this type of call before offering a credit on my phone bill for doing something, usually it is with Verizon, but as I said, I do not have Verizon...so it is a scam.

It is great that they will block it for you...unfortunately, I do not have Verizon, I have a prepaid phone service (it is cheaper $45 a month unlimited), but they can not block numbers for some reason.

Received two calls on my cellphone; spaced exactly 20 minutes apart (0940 & 1000) on 01-Nov-2013.

Novembet 1st I got a cslll from this number exactly 20 minutes apart did not answer and they did not leave a message.

Be caerful and don't answer - one local high school girl answered and had $800 tacked on to her cell phone bill.  I think they are calling from the Virgin Islands or somewhere like that.

Two calls in exactly 20 minutes with no message.  Strange!
