I just got 2 calls from the 800-600-1228 but I did not pick up since calls from 800 numbers are usually sales calls or scams.  This is still going on so please don't pick up or click on any website addresses.  It could put a virus on your computer, that's what I'm thinking.

This seems like a scam.  Just got called from the number.  When I answered, there was a recorded message telling me to log into my [nonexistant] Verizon account at www.vz71.com to have $78-something dollars credited to my account.  When I tried to call Verizon to speak with someone about the fact that I want my name, number removed from their records, I can't even get through to a person.  I couldn't even find a phone number on the Verizon Wireless website to call.  I had to get transferred from a landline person.
And I thought I would be rid of Verizon when I left 10 years ago.

This number called and did not leave a message but I have had several unknown numbers call with the Verizon gift card scam. I'm sure this is just another number that they use once too many people block the other numbers. I have blocked these type of calls twice already but it's just a never ending cycle because they just use new numbers. Very frustrating.

it appears to be a company that spams to tell us we owe some business money.  they told me I owe TimeWarner money -- but the crazy thing is, TW is autopay for me so zero outstanding balance.  it is a scammer with made up debt.

Called me twice within 20 minutes. Can not call the number back.

Two calls in a row from this number.  No message.  It's not recognizable.

Got a call from ths nmber and stated that  i need to log into certain website to claim my Verizon  credit.  scam

same here, got 2 missed calls from the number. when I tried calling back, operator states the number has been disconnected.

Thanks for the heads up. I was worried this was a fraud. Glad I didn't go to the site.

Called twice in 20 minutes, left no message

Called my cell twice in 20 minutes. I did not pick up either time. They did not leave a voicemail message.

Two calls within an hour; I didn't answer and they didn't leave a message.

it's AT&T...I tried to apply for a phone.

I just got a call from that number, I did pick up, thinking it was a different call that I was waiting for.  It was a recording that said I was awarded 71 dollars to be taken off my next cell phone bill and gave me an WWW site address....it is a number that is used to direct people to trusted names, such as AT & T, Verizon, etc so they give out important personal information.  I did try typing the site, and my very very good firewalls and watchers gave me the warning that this is used for scamming.

this number called me twice left no message but when i call back it said the toll free number you have dialed is not available from your calling area.

I got them too, at 3:50, and 4:10

Got called on 11/8/13 and a recording said 71.00 had been added to my verizon acct.??? I don't even have a verizon acct. they talked and hung up so fast I wasn't sure what was going on.

They only promised me $71.00. What the heck did I do wrong?

they just called me and exactly 20 minutes apart also. its creepy

The message will mention one, of a few, fake-Verizon, phishing sites. My message tried to get me to go to vzw71.com. Chrome shows this site, and vzw153.com, as a "reported" phishing sites.
