In the 7 am hour Saturday 11/9/13, my husband's cell rang with this number.  Then about 20 min's later, my phone rang with it and his chimed in at the same time.  The number is being spoofed (made to show a fake number on your screen), so don't answer and don't call back (block it if you know how).

Do not worry and please do nothing!! This is a scam! They pretend to be verizon but they're not. I also had this morning (saturday) at 8:30 then 20 min later !!!

Yup. Two calls, exactly 20 minutes apart, no message. What a peculiar scam!

I also got 2 missed calls on Friday night from this number and when i called it back it says "this number is unavailable from your calling area 14a". and a while ago I got a message saying to claim a refund by going to www.vzw.com but i didn't check it out because I don't have Verizon so maybe its the same thing...

my bestfriend got this number call and we heard it just one minute ago and me and her are soooo scared about it and it said YOU CAN HAVE A NICE DAY.

The person who called my cell phone sounded like he was from Nigeria, and he spoke gibberish.  He kept saying booglia booga over and over until I hung up.

What I don't understand is why anybody answers a phone call that is from a number that you don't recognize.  If its important they will leave a voicemail.  If they don't then it wasn't important.  If everyone would just not answer these calls then maybe the scammers would just give up.

They're back!  This time, they are BLOCKED.  What a waste of my time.  I wish there was a way to stop these people all together.  I feel bad for the people that aren't so savvy and have actually gone through with this and gotten cheated and robbed.  They prey on the very young and the elderly who may not be so aware of scammers like this.

Log in to a Verizon website for credit to bill.

This is a scam # don't fall for it they called me so I can get a discount of my next month bill I went to the VZ store & they told me theirs no such thing don't fall for it

Received a voicemail from this number saying I should go to a website to claim a $101 account credit from Verizon. Clearly a scam.

Got two calls from this number in a 5 minute period. I don't answer calls when I don't know who it is. When I tried to call the number back I got 3 beeps and then a dead tone.

Same here, as many have stated, 2 calls back-to-back.  Just received one more, so far the only one today, but the number came up again on 10/31/13 as having called twice.  Seems to me this must be some type of scam/fraud as it can't be legitimately happening to this many people.

This is a scam do not share your password or PIN. Report the number and www.vzw71.com which is a fishing to FCC!
